Sweet build man! I want to build an 87+ lt250r also, since there pretty simple should I buy a frame and build it up? Or buy a clapper and build that? I feel like most of these 250r are in super rough shape and I'm better off building it ground up because most stuff will be getting replaced.
I would buy the cheapest complete unit you can find. A lot of the parts for these are not available aftermarket, so starting with a complete quad will be your best bet. Make sure the frame isn't bent too bad, nobody makes an aftermarket frame anymore.
Wow that black banshee looks like it has way more suspension travel than normal one. Also that beginning movie montage thing looked so good. Keep up the good work. 👍
How does the spark plug burn ? alot of these 112's sound kinda lean bogie. you said it was rich. maybe a different taper'd needle. or whole new carb. they look pretty sick
Ya it was very rich, lots of black goo always running down the exhaust. The float height was so high that straight gasoline would pour into the cylinder on steep downhills and kill the engine. Lowering the float height solved all my issues
Yes it was rich as hell, loaded up really easy. Took the carb apart and lowered the float height by like 1-2mm to lean it out a bit across all the circuits
Man thats got to be the coolest looking Quadracer iv ever seen. Iv owned a couple 85 and 86 one day i want to find a nice 87-92 and build something like u have done. Iv always thought the Suzuki looked better than any any quad except maybe a banchee both very cool. Honda 250r is a great machine of course but the money they sell for now i like the Suzuki lol!! Iv always thought the suzuki was over shadowed by the honda. With a build like urs the Suzuki isnt far behind the honda. Thanks for sharing again beautiful build.
Thank you! And originally we wanted to build a honda 250r but the prices are just ridiculous, this was a very cheap alternative and I am very happy with how it performs
@@RedlineRollers Personally never understood some peoples hate on the Suzuki. Specially the 3rd gen great machines mine were durable and very fast. Even stock suspension isn’t that bad for having fun trail riding. 250r isn’t great until u put money into them both great machines. I personally think the LT250r builds more interesting now because iv saw so many honda builds. Anyway if i find a deal on a honda ill grab it if not ill find a Suzuki. Another advantage with Suzuki there lighter than any performance quad ever made i do believe anyway. Again sweet looking bike u built there.
Were you guys running spark arrestor’s on banshee in Oregon I have power core 2 and I’m heading there this summer and was wondering if you got hassled at all about them
No we didn't run any and didn't have any issues. We were also there the week before the American long weekend so there was basically nobody there. Our truck got checked for parking payment daily though
Nice video guys! I own a KLX110 with the Ripper 90 kit and can clearly see some of the differences between the 2 setups. The longer travel up front helps with ground clearance in deeper snow. The 90 in anything over 12” just snowplows. Love the top speed and time trial, keep shredding 🤙
If you wouldn’t mind sharing who you ordered the parts from that’d be awesome I’m looking at doing a 421 and looking for a good business to do business with.
I ordered most of the parts from Farm and Sand Toys. Avoid BP racing atv... I know they have "kits", but I've heard it can be low quality. I've also heard good things about Redline Racing (no association haha)
Great videos, was cool seeing the lt250r going up some of those hills as well, that’s the 91’ you bought and rebuilt right, I have a spicy 92’ lt250r & a 96’ banshee 421 serval, my 2 fav quads of all time lol
