I've been thinking about upgrading atvs. I was wondering if you think the wider one is worth the extra money? I ride pretty open trails so the width isn't an issue, just want to see if the cost is worth it. Thanks
I had a scrambler 1000 48inch before this and they don't even feel like the same quad. You can outride any quad on the market with this thing even if you aren't a good rider. That being said I'm selling mine because I have more fun on a cheap under powered quad just because you feel like your riding harder. But if you want the Smoothest most comfortable and most capable quad and don't mind spending a bit extra this is the unit to have.
I need more info on overall performance with a cvt. I'm so familiar with 5 gear transmissions now that a cvt just seems so odd. But I've noticed in my short time researching that almost all brands use cvts now for their high end atvs. So it seems like unless I get another honda I'm stuck with a cvt.
You lose something like 30% of your horsepower with a cvt setup but in my opinion you make up for it because the machine is always in the perfect gear. Now I will say if you care about reliability a traditional 5 speed or shifter setup is much more bullet proof and requires much less maintenance. That being said cvt are also very reliable just need to be serviced.
