Who made your retirement list? Miami? Minneapolis? Atlanta???? I've visited or lived in most of the top 10 cities listed and would NEVER retire to any of them. I may end up stuck in Tampa but as much as I enjoy the area, I don't recommend the city to any one or any of the businesses I work with
15:37 I’ve actually done things like DoorDash and while I disagreed with the delivery drivers method, it does suck that people who tipped (likely to get very good service) have to wait to get their food meanwhile the person who DIDN’T tip gets their food hot and fresh. And I don’t want to hear “oh but what if they didn’t have the money to tip?”. If you have enough money for pizza, you have enough money to tip SOMETHING! From my experience, it’s not always the broke customers that don’t tip well or at all. Sometimes the cheap customers are the one living in mansions. To me, that just shows your character as a person.
Okay so with that story it looks like most are siding with the author (not surprising since they have a way to spin a story) I’m going to play devil’s advocate here and try to be neutral even though I didn’t hear her side of it. First off, the orders didn’t come at the same time. If I call a pizza place, especially short staffed, the line would be busy if someone else was on the line. Online orders note the time so he knew the order they came in. And second y’all are right. He could’ve kept the real reason to himself instead of telling her it was about the tips. He chose not to. Even after having that long car ride to think of what he would say to her when asked. He told her that out of spite over past deliveries. With that being said, I agree with the ppl saying the tipping culture is insane. This is basically bribery and if it doesn’t stop, eventually people will just be able to pay to skip the line with very important services. Us agreeing with him just shows how are conditioned to the culture we were raised in, which is understandable of course
Don't tip your offer sits. If it's food it's sitting. Often it sits until someone in your direction who is tipping also places a order. The drivers are independent. They will accept a offer that makes sense. Your food arrives colder than it could have and the other customer paid to have it accepted. Some orders sit a long time
The pizza delivery story doesn't make much sense to me. Regardless of what order he delivered the pizzas, he was going to have to deliver all of them anyways. Why not delivery them in the optimal driving distance order that saves the driver time and gas money?
Concerning the delivery driver, since the 3 orders were sent at the same time the guy had full discretion on the order, so there was no problem there. The mistake was telling her that she drew the end of the stick due to a lack of tipping. Should have just kept the explanation at the distance between the orders.
I'm not mad at the delivery driver, but he shouldn't have told her why she got her pizza last. I do find it funny. The lady said. How do you know I'm not going to tip? When it sounds like she orders from there enough that the driver knows she doesn't tip. Like today was going to be the day lol
Chase should allow people to switch from the Apple Card to a freedom or something like that. That way they would get maybe 30 to 60% of the people to switch and by switching it will change their due date or statement date.
Brandon you are spot on with the pizza delivery person, its both a money and ethics issue. But lets give credit where credit is due. The pizza delivery person gets The DumbS### Of The Week Award for saying too much when delivering the 3rd pizza.
I get it, I’ve been a driver and waited tables but I also wanna be the most efficient. If her house is first, he should’ve went to her first regardless of pre-tipping.
T.I.P.S. - To Insure Prompt Service may be an urban legend, but it's the way the world works. I'm not delivering to that person again. You develop a reputation for not tipping a 100% legit tipped role and should expect poor service. (We're not talking stipulation here - delivery drivers have always been tipped). His mistake was being too honest. He should have just said short-staffed - I'm the only one working deliveries tonight. We're doing the best we can. 70 minutes for a pizza delivery isn't out of the norm. We're not doing this 30 minutes or free stuff any more.
I wonder if there is a corporate policy on what order to deliver the pizzas. Since corporate called the store supervisor and the supervisor couldn’t afford to loose staff, I assume there is a policy that was not followed.
100% agree with the delivery driver. However, the tipping culture is outdated and stupid. The US should let go of it and pay a livable wage. Tipping should be optional for exceptional service. It works better for the rest of the world, just like the metric system. 😂
5:28 I feel like it’s negligent to leave out the fact that once you get one delta card you can never ever get a bonus on a lower tier delta card. You must get the lowest delta card first and climb the ladder. I must now question the validity of the information you provide if you’re gonna choose to leave this fact out.
Great video! Thank you for the information and the laugh while sharing to Long John Silvers Pirate offer!😂 For me I wouldn’t charge wedding guests for food but I think her parents are almost forcing her hand. The parents should reduce their guest list. Unless they find a cheaper venue , charging the guests might be the only way her parents can invite everyone they want to attend and allow the bride and groom to also invite who’d they’d like!
Unpopular opinion…I might get some hate 😬 But if you want to have a lot of guests then you must be ready to pay for that many guests. If you are on a budget then maybe getting married isn’t the best way to go. Do people not save anymore for a big expense? If you are on a budget consider making it a very intimate wedding with just the most important people 🙂 I come from a culture where the husband pays for everything (or the husbands side of the family) and asking for guests to pay for their plate just seems a bit tacky (I can’t even find the right word lol). Those are just my 3 cents.
Open question. Would you do the Brilliant offer or the delta gold offer. I actually don't really use either. Both miles and points probably will sit for at least a year. Doing this to earn something with spend. Over 5/24. Thinking delta gold business. Have the bonvoy business. And the delta gold business will have no AF. Probably would follow up in a year or so with the next delta platnum bonus
Great question. When looking at offers like these I usually like to have an idea of what points I’m gonna need first. Is there a specific trip you have planned for next year? Do you need the Marriott points. The Brilliant card has a 185k offer. That’s hard to ignore. If I’m picking between the two I’d say grab the Delta. I’d rather wait until the Marriott card I wanted had the free night certificates. I’d also want to make sure I could use those certificates within a year as they do expire. With you sitting on your rewards for a year or so as you stated I may be more inclined to take the miles with the Delta card. Just my two cents.
@thebrandonboydshow this spring I had the same issue so I did the 5 night bonvoy business. So next summer I have to find a use for those. We stay for free in vegas so that's some of our trips. The delta miles will sit because we jumped at a chance to be bumped from a flight with the heat this summer. So have certificates to use that should provide free flights for next summer and will need to use those. Wife is retiring soon and am banking up points and miles I think the delta business gold is my answer. The business card helps with 5/24 and no annual fee if it isn't used much first year. And has a fair amount of points. I already am planning on my player #2 to add an air card in the spring and by end of this year I'm back under 5/24. An amex business card is my answer.
The boundless card went from 3 night credits worth up to 50k points (so in theory three nights of 150k) to 125k points. I wish theyd have just offered 150k points.
I see you haven’t been to McDonald's in a while...lol Every time you order more than one item there, the bill ends up over $10. So it will add up real fast. Especially with my kids.
I would go for the Marriott points instead of FNC. The FNC have expiration dates to worry about whereas points can stay available with minimal activity so it gives me more flexibilty.
My wife and I were young when we got married. We had very little money... we made it work. We got married the Saturday after Thanksgiving, our family gathering was our reception, she bought a dress on Craigslist, we got lucky with the Venue for the wedding as she found a place that normally costs thousands but since it was the only day not booked she got it for $680 as long as we kept it under 50 people. We found a wedding photographer for $500 as long as we let her use our photos for her website. (She was just starting out but she was awesome and now is VERY Expensive) total cost $2500 and 0 regrets. Married 16 years and counting.
$86 per person for food is insanely cheap for a wedding. You can easily spend 2-3X that at a wedding venue in NJ/NY area. If she is inviting 150 guests to her wedding they should get a good % of the cost back in wedding gifts. Charging people up front for your wedding is just ridiculous, it’s your wedding.
We got married at my college, which provides catering. $12 a person all in. The food was good too. People waste their money on anything wedding. I mean better to find a way to save than to make people pay.
If you can’t afford it, you shouldn’t have it. Cheesus. Some of these people’s first world problems are just so stupid. Have a simple garden wedding with 10 people. Nobody invites anybody but the ones getting married. It’s not rocket science. 🤦🏻♂️ or better yet, have an even smaller wedding without the damn parents. 😂
The platinum card is a good card for me because I travel a lot. The lounge access and hotel loyalty upgrades, global entry, precheck, and airline credit is a game changer. I look at it as me paying for those perks in advance at a significant discount. I dont use much of the other credits. The gold card is still worth it considering I dont have capitol one's savor one yet. I still will get more back even with the elevated yearly fee with the gold card. My wife uses up the uber eats credit every month too so I like the savings there and it makes her happy to skip cooking for that day 😂. I think once i can get the savor one, I'll let the gold card go.
So what are the downsides of giving your personality identification information to a poorly secured government database subject to abuse by DEA, FBI, data scammers, id thieves and corrupt political actors looking to harass anyone they disagree with? I see Tulsi Gabbard Is on Terror Watchlist, I wonder if her political opponents used her clear data to do this? The benefits need to be weighed against the risks. You forgot the risks part. I think I will just go the precheck lines.
