The songs are very different, except that they both use the common standard drum pattern used in thousands of Rock songs and jazz......This song uses Kick drum on the first and 3rd beat and accent rim shot on the snare on the 2nd and 4th beat with continuous tapping on the high hat. Her co-producer is Greg Camp, founder of and former lead guitarist and songwriter for the rock band, Smash Mouth, who did the arrangement. He knows all the standard drum patterns. She never had an "operatic voice" to lose. @@cl9786 I meant to say if she’s able or interested in singing classical now. She’s not an established opera singer like I thought she would become as an adult. Her voice is too soft with limited resonance and soft vibrato by surveying her other recent videos as a grown up.

Jackie has never had an interest in pursuing opera. In fact, she's never had voice training of any kind, though she sings classical songs. The 3 arias she recorded at age 10 were simply a challenge and meant only to show she could sing them beautifully, though not operatically of course. Rather, she has always sung them in a pop-opera style using pop vocal techniques.....with finesse rather than power, extended straight-tone instead of strong vibrato, etc. The "opera singer" label attached to her has always been an unfortunate misconception.

Actually singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell owns this song written in 1967, released 1969. Over 1500 different artists have recorded/performed it. Jackie was inspired by Joni Mitchell's music and recorded an entire album as a tribute to Joni titled "Carousel of Time". This song is no. 1 on the tracklist.

I agree. I think success in songwriting beyond her expectations at this point has done wonders for her moral and healing as well. Recall that she said writing and composing her own music is a "therapeutic endeavor", and it has proven beneficial. She looked great in her recent interview with Harvey Brownstone, healthy and animated. And she has returned to a natural blonde.

Get off your soap box. Her fans know she has been under professional care since 2021, and is in recovery. She also knows it's a long term battle. She is healthier now and maintaining weight.....As she said "I'm in a much better place now, so you don't have to worry". Apparently you choose to ignore the evidence, posting the same ignorant comment repeatedly . Karen Carpenter died because she denied her condition until it was too late, whereas Jackie acknowledged her eating disorder in 2018 when her parents confronted her, and she has discussed it publicly in numerous TV interviews, magazine articles and Instagram videos. I suspect you were among those who insulted, demeaned and intimidated her on social media, and threatened her to back down from performing the national anthem. This "crap singer" is a multi-Platinum and Gold recording artist, an international star who has performed over 190 solo concerts nationwide and given command performances in 9 countries. She has released 8 albums in a row that hit #1 on the Classical Chart. She had performed 8 times for Washington national events beginning with the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony for then president Obama at age 10, The National Prayer Breakfast at age 11, A Capitol Fourth at age13, Memorial Day concert at age14 and A Capitol Fourth at age 16. She still has the distinction of being the youngest Platinum-selling artist in history. I sense resentment from you.

She was paying tribute to her country as required by law at any national event, including a presidential inauguration regardless of who the president elect may be. She said often, "I wasn't singing for the man, but for my country". The national anthem is not political but a celebration of victory over British forces during the War of 1812.

@@SamuelM.-iz1un Her motivation shouldn't be questioned regardless of who might be president elect, nor should any other performer be questioned, because the only purpose for singing the national anthem is to honor one's country whether at a national event, a sports event or any other occasion when it is required. It is never in honor of a person, and performing it is not a political statement.. From age 10 to 16, she performed 8 times at Washington national events during the Obama administration and sang the national anthem many times for sports events. In fact, she performed "God Bless America" for A Capitol Fourth just 6 months before the inauguration. No one ever questioned her motivation or ethics, nor should they have. The reason she was invited by the inaugural committee to sing the NA is because of her reputation. She had become a go-to performer among those in Washington circles because of her reliability as a performer, her exceptional vocal appeal and her patriotism.
