Are both of them GS-4 locomotives? I know that the one on the right is Daylight 4449, but I'm trying to figure out if the one on the left is Daylight's sister.
I was Broadway would have made Southern Pacific X 4449 daylight to have that much smoke come out that would be cool with extra more details looking like the actual locomotive 🚂😎
Great vlog! Loved the tour. I just wish that Lionel would bring back some production to America/Canada/Mexico, like opening a small injection molding and assembly shop - and outfit it with automation and other modern manufacturing/assembly techniques so that maybe it could be competitive. You will never get close to the economies of scale or low hourly wage that China has, but some items could be brought back. I just don't like it when an iconic American brand gives up and just becomes a big warehouse with R& D and administrative departments.
One locomotive that wasn’t present in the video was the Western Pacific GP35 3002 that was just recently restored. It was donated to the museum by the previous owner, the Arkansas Midland Railroad.
Union station is one of my most beloved places in the world, I’m glad you enjoyed your visit! For some context on the NKP unit, it is indeed a working loco. The livery is not historically accurate tho, it never worked on the NKP. It’s actually Utah Railway 306, which worked out of Provo until it retired in the 80’s. It was then bought by the Oregon rail heritage center, and lived there up until a few years ago when it was given to Union station and returned to Utah. It’s due to be repainted into the previous Utah railway livery soon, and should look a lot more accurate!

UP 833 still has her whistle attached to it and theres a recording of 836 and 833 on possibly one of the last doubleheaders on the UP for passenger service recorded by Howard fogg I'm wondering what 833s whistle would sound like maybe someday 844 could wear it
Absolutely you can expand your FastTrack layout! The track system is very good and you can find it at most hobby shops. I think its compatible with some other tracks too but I need to check. Happy Railroading 🚂!
Great video! That was Doyle McCormick's NKP rs unit. I think that Santa Fe locomotive was an ALCo RSD15 Alligator. Thanks for sharing your visit. I hope to get out there someday. -Ricky
