The Community Poll was very interesting! I kept telling Lady Lionel that the votes really wanted to see the new C&O Greenbrier 612. Maybe we'll see that in the future! Or another C&O Greenbrier! Imagine this video had a after credit scene.. To be continued!
I like that Lionel made the 5 whistle options more specific to the railroad the engines are modeled after. I have the Pennsy L-1 and the whistles are just about all different from yours accept for 1 of them it seems. It’s a nice attention to detail from Lionel.
I 100% agree! Overall I am very impressed with this locomotive and it has a great story between the Pennsylvania and ATSF! I'm still researching if the Santa Fe replaced the whistle when they purchased it. Happy railroading 🦁🚂!
Overall, Lionel did a great selection of whistles for this locomotive! My two favorite are the Pennsylvania and ATSF whistles. I still need to do research of if ATSF kept the original whistle or changed it.
Hey Will, thanks for posting and giving us all a look at this engine! I may have to find one now, I'm a real sucker for Santa Fe steam and this one is gorgeous. Just checking out your channel for the first time and you're doing great work, keep it up!
Thank you 3415! BTW that's an awesome locomotive! I would really recommend trying to find this locomotive! The brass tender makes this one different from all the rest. Overall, it's a great locomotive it fits with all the other ATSF locomotives! Thank you for checking out my channel! If you like Santa Fe this channel is for you! :) Happy Railroading!
Lionel did a great job on these, I'm glad they put a Santa Fe whistle in it. I was contemplating picking this up, but MTH Premier Santa Fe Northern 2926 popped up so I went that route. I'm sure you would agree with that choice 😃
Yes they did!!! I'm happy they put the Santa Fe whistle on it too. I'm going to research and see if Santa Fe kept the original whistle from the Pennsylvania or changed it. I would still pick this locomotive up! The fact the it has a brass tender shows that Lionel will go to great lengths to deliver a great product! I cannot tell you how excited I am for the ATSF 2926!!!! I cannot wait! I recommend watching my Vol 1 Preorders video to see what I have on order! :)
Nice job. While not a fan of unboxing videos, I did enjoy the locomotive testing portion of the video very much. Nice and to the point! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the feedback! I agree with you on unboxing videos. Sometimes the entire process can get very long and sometimes boring. Originally this video had a very long unboxing because Lionel really packed this locomotive well. I ended up skipping through a lot of the unboxing and focused on the overall moments when I saw the loco for the first time. Be on the lookout for more videos in the future! Happy railroading! :)
Hey Sam!!! This locomotive is AWESOME! If you are nearby we will take a trip to the Lionel Store and who know maybe we both will leave with locomotives!
Man will your making me want to spend some money on some Santa Fe instead of Western Pacific! A wonderful steamer but man it feels weird to see Penney steam dressed up in Santa Fe attire!
Hahaha. I've been told that before, every time my friends get the locomotive and they love them! I would recommend getting this one for sure! It is weird at first but when you read about the relationship between the ATSF and Pennsylvania it makes this locomotive that much better! Maybe you can get both!?!
Difficult to tell under the light, but the body of the engine appears lighter than the tender body. Since the Pennsy engines were delivered by Lionel in a "not exactly prototypical" shade of green how would you define the color on your engine, and is there a slight difference between the engine and tender colors? Let us know how you address the vibration caused by the tender speaker.........
Thank you! I tried a lot of new things in this video! I'm starting to get a hold of iMovie and I'm really enjoying editing! Stay tuned for the next video! :)
Lionel has an MSRP of $999.99 however, if you go through a good Lionel dealer it will cost less. Would 100% recommend this locomotive!! Happy Railroading!!
