As a teenager myself with a younger sibling, I completely agree with all the points he went through. Rodrick is the most normal character in the Heffly family: Susan: controlling, overprotective, overconfident asshole Karen of a mother Frank: literal man-child, values his toys over his wife and children, and allows himself to be controlled by his wife. Greg: sexist creep, who uses his “friend” as a way to get what he wants Manny: the sporn of satin, no question. Rodrick: plays pranks on his siblings, has a passion for music and wants to have a band and go viral. Even though he’s a dick, he is the most normal person in the Heffly family.
For the dunce cap, I remember my class went to a field trip to see what school was like during those times (including punishments, we even got to dress like them), and there were multiple volunteers (alternating) for the dunce cap, and we were told it was supposed to make us laugh (as punishment for those times), and I told myself not to laugh, because I felt bad for the kids during those times, but I could not hold back, and I know it was only a reenactment (one of the volunteers even made a goofy face), but I felt kinda bad about it.
