It is not that Galadriel uses a sword... it is that Galadriel doesn't need a sword... she is already more powerful and wise than anyone in middle earth at that time barring maybe Sauron, Celeborn, or the Wizards
this isnt about color it never was so many black people love LOTR and none of them give a fuck about the colors of the orcs it honestly says more about you that sees it as kinda "racist" then people who just enjoy the Legendarium of Tolkien
I actually have to disagree with this interpretation of Tolkien's intention of writing Aeowin as just a sad girl who wants to die in battle cause she's heart broken: in Two Towers she is named as lord of Rohan because Theodin and Eomer (who has become Theodin's heir) had to go to battle and needed someone to lead their people their place. Her name is offered by a guard because she's fearless, intelligent, and loved by everyone. So Theodin is like "Yeah, you're right. She will lead my people." So it would seem she was intended to just be a girl boss.
Man, I don't care if it's slightly sexist or what the directors views are. If I can watch it and enjoy my time doing so, it's good enough for me. The newest season and the few specials right before it are kinda iffy for me on the whole trans or woke or any of that, but I had fun watching the shenanigans. I loved The Toymaker. But, that's probably, mostly because I know a bit of German and the way he uses it is funny af.
>See video criticizing harry potter for some dumb issue nobody cares about * sigh * >Check channel All videos are about gay stuff >Check channel description They/them >Click on video Man voice EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. In his defense I will also say that I knew from the profile picture alone.
I think Time Lords have evolved to the point where gender identity at birth, is the same as their biological sex, however it seems a byproduct of their regeneration is that it can change their biological sex rarely.
“We just got lucky that he is gay” is the funniest reason that a writer did good ever, like no, it’s not he’s an exceptional talent, he’s just fucking gay.
As someone who the document helped realize im a lesbian, I understand it is flawed but I feel like people always take it too literally. I would see so many posts of bi women online saying how ridiculous it is that liking feminine men makes you lesbian when the document just says things that collectively could point to someone being lesbian. I didnt read a few bullets on the doc and go “im a lesbian now!” It was the amalgamation of many things along with personal things I felt outside of the doc. People reading the doc to “see if they’re a lesbian” as though its a buzzfeed quiz it was caused the problem of people so many ppl reading it and not understanding it. At the time I read it, one of my bisexual friends read it and only related to two things and did not think she was a lesbian at all, the other one of my bisexual friends related many parts of it and at the time she had been questioning if she was a lesbian. I read it and my whole world shifted, essentially. Looking back, I think there are many ways one can figure out their sexuality, such as talking about it with someone who is that sexuality or reading about the experiences and feelings of someone who is that sexuality. I think the doc is just a very online way to go about it, and people shouldn’t treat it as the only avenue and then get mad about it.
Season 2 was definitely an improvement from the first, but what they did to Celebrimbor and the elves was downright despicable. The writing put into the characters and dialogue was much better, good even, but the writing put into the plot was dogshit. These elves are still thousands of years old, trained in the arts AND warfare. To think that the orcs could get their entire army with seige engines right across the river without any elves in the city noticing is absurd. The first couple of episodes were great, but they still managed to fugg it up in the end. To the fans who think this is bad becuase it's woke, you have no right to complain about any of this. Your own illiteracy prevents your opinions from having any value.
I had identified as lesbian since I was 13, and been trying to accept attraction to men for a little while now, and its still hard. I keep going back and forth between the lesbian and queer labels. I know Im sapphic, theres no question that i love women and female people. And when I stop to think about what I find attractive about men, theres actually nothing - i really dont feel drawn to anything stereotyped or common in cismen. It's hard to explain, because I feel comfortable and safe in the lesbian label and thats why Im afraid its not true and Im just clinging to it out of internalized biphobia. I wonder if that makes sense
When you say “it just happened to spread faster in the gay community” you’re really omitting something super important. Gay people OFTEN have unprotected sex (not even gonna get into drugs, that’s a whole other can of worms). Of course people who can’t get pregnant aren’t going to worry about protecting themselves as much
This is an interesting discussion and points out something I have noticed in right-wing religion: the sacredness of scripture and the desire to punish those who don't accept that sacredness. And the religionists have the same need to have their identity validated from outer sources, not the healthiest way to operate one's identity. Understandable, certainly, but not the best one could hope for.
"Every successful economy revolves around the hopeless cycle of repetition, where we sell you the empty promise of happiness and fulfilment. And unfulfilled as ever, you still come back from more."
I think the main problem r8ngs of power has is it does not respect the heart of what tolkien was creating. The world is not earth and the orcs arent meant to be relatable or pittied, they are a corruption of what the gods made and only redemable in the halls of the gods. Like wise the elves are true and pure. Amaz9n is giving us the DC treatment for tolkien and it doesnt work. Lotr is a fairy tale and if youbtry to ground it you ruin it
Bro you just reminded me that Galadriel is intimidating as hell 😭 the way she would gaze into the souls of the members of the fellowship while talking had me nervous
Funny, that voice. Word for word what i hear inside, but you know. I just decided to be straight. If you have choice, why not choose the safe option? Have a family same as everyone else. Not really working for me, no family, cant keep a man, but at least I've suffocated something inside of me that society doesn't approve of. I felt so comfortable in queer spaces, but since people only seen me dating guys - i've heard i'm homophibic and doing micro aggression when i say i miss having queer friends. So i got the message, I'm an invader, and i don't fit in. After all, I'm just confused and both sides agree on that.
i agree with your critique currently of heartstopper (the show) but they do express sexual desire in the comics and express themes surrounding ed's and thinness, i hope as it progresses the tv show addresses that
It's interesting how you criticize this consumerism around Harry Potter with a treasure trove of merch behind ya. It's an interesting exploration for sure, tho I've always found most Harry Potter merchandise to be lackluster and overpriced. I'd be totally on board if it was higher quality stuff.
7:00. You make a good point on the androgeny of elves and dwarfs. I admit I did not notice this in the few episodes I watched but it does make a huge difference.
the thing is, copyright exists not only for the ip holders to make money, but for others to be unable to steal their work and ideas, specially for smaller creators, unlike jk or companies which are huge
