We'll be going up for the first time on the evening of the 18th and staying in the campground next to the ramp. Hoping to come home with a chest full of fish!
how deep were you hittin em? I only got 4 fish in 2 days of trolling. I was down around 35,40,45 ft roughly. Was told I was too deep. Thanks for the video!
Great video!!! Thanks for posting. So many only postvperfect days/catches. I think it’s more educational to see how to deal with issues when they come up. Congrats on all the fish and that was really nice you gave some to that couple😊
There were not many fish in there opening day. I'm surprised it was that good. Counts are up to 1,000+ fish a day now, so it should be getting better. I might try it later this week with my Kayak. Its a two-hour drive for me.
Dang I wish I could have been there with ya. ..looks like a fun and hectic day. So glad to see you stay cool and get the job done.great video sir and thank you for sharing
@@masonsmith9668 I’ll be out in my boat. It’s a gray Crestliner. Start at 20’. As the sun gets brighter(after 730ish) start dropping about 10’ hour. I catch 99% of mine between 20-45’.
Awesome job! Glad you had a good time! I just came back from Baker this morning and it was a bit rough today. Went 0-3. It looks like a lot of other people were having trouble as well. Seemed slow. What is your preferred leader length/line strength if you don't mind me asking. I'm thinking of shortening up my leaders to like 9 in and maybe upping the strength just to get more action on my lure.
@@ShenpaiWasTaken Saturday was lights out. Sunday had 2 bites and 2 landed. Will get better this week. I have videos of my setup you can see. I run a 12” leader from the knot to the end of the last hook. A short leader is better and putting a bend in your dodger.
@@vjarmon3536 At the time I was unfamiliar with the Bixpy. I had multiple friends who ran the NK180 and had very good things to say about it. I really don’t know much about the Bixpy.
@@countryboy360 thanks for the quick reply. I have a Hobie Compass and I was looking at the nk180 or the Bixpy. Both about same price once you add battery to NK180 or the kayak mount to the Bixpy. NK180 also has more power.
@@cuberasnapper1352 Grand Slam Bucktail jig. Anything that looks similar to a fly or even a fly is great. Especially after the fish start to feel all the heavy pressure.
@@PavlusAdventures I got it at Holiday Sports in Burlington/Mt. Vernon. You will pass right by there on your way home from fishing this weekend. They are across from McDonalds at exit 230 on I-5.
If you need a partner to go out with someone most of the time, hit me up. I’ll share some expenses also bro. Always wanted to get out there for halibut also
@@johnnythy4490 We can make that happen. Halibut season wasn’t great this year. Hope it gets better next year. But starting on the 6th I’ll hit Baker Lake for Sockeye and then the saltwater for coho when it opens.
@@countryboy360 ok 👍 probably wont get riggers until next season, assuming youve got a fish finder(i dont), is there a certain depth range i should stay in maybe 20ft-60ft on Baker
@@thefishingfienchannel7497 Start at 20’. The sockeye are up there before sunrise and for a little while after. If you are not getting any bites drop down 10’ increments till you get to 50’. I catch 95% of my fish between 20-50’ with 40 being a sweet spot. Troll slow. Less than 1mph.
@@thefishingfienchannel7497 No apologies needed. Hope I can help. Early season they are aggressive. Just be in the area. Later season harder to catch. When it gets late season I change stuff up. I go smaller on my flashers and lure. Late season I use Kokanee gear with bigger hooks, smaller shrimp and less flash. I’ll be out there in my boat so if you see me I’ll try to help.
I like your fishing channels and that you enjoy going with a friend. Fishing with a friend is good ~ with or without camera! Enjoy and have peace health and blessings! 💚💖🌟
Greetings from Australia mate 😁Loved the video and awesome kayak setup. Just getting into kayak fishing myself so was good to see how you’ve set yours up 👍😁
@@PavlusAdventures I just bought a travel cover for my windshield due to all the horror stories. Should get to me before I use the boat again. Great minds think alike 😂🤔
@@PavlusAdventures Last week of the month. Not sure what day. Will go Kokanee fishing. It will also be a shake down run to make sure all my gear is good for Sockeye in July. I’ll email you today so we can exchange numbers. Can you send me your email again. Forgot what post you left it on🤦🏻♂️
Thank you. What would you recommend? I have the boundary boot but if they get wet in cold temps my feet get cold. Thank you for any recommendation you have.
Both. At Lawson Reef I usually catch greenling, rockfish and lingcod. I have never caught a flounder at the reef. For flounder you can catch them from West Beach all the way down to NAS Whidbey. Hope that helps and if you need anymore information just ask. Maybe we can go together sometime. Be safe.
Looks super fun. I too am thinking about getting on a charter boat to fish for lingcod, rock bass, and whatever we can catch. Been wanna try deep sea fishing for a while now. Westport area possibly.
It’s a great time. Maybe one year we can hop on one together. There are some great ones around. The one I went on does all those also but up here in the islands. Of course no rockfish though.
Not 100% sure since I’m new to halibut fishing. I think it would be a little difficult due to them being on the bottom but I expect with experience you would be able to.
I wear gloves almost all the time due to being prone to skin cancer and I was slow at netting the second one and was quite frustrated myself. This fishery and type of fishing was very new to me 4 years ago. Thank you.
Another great video my friend. I gotta say that was one he'll of a day of fishing for me. I really appreciate the invite and Thanks for putting us on some nice fish! It's an honor to have met you and fish with you. Looking forward on another fishing adventures with you.Fish on!!!
