Since this is a 2004, I'm assuming it has a throttle cable like my 2003. Does this mean you were able to perform the manual swap without programming the computer? Thank you!
@@charlesdickerson8260 No it still need a tune regardless of the cable or drive by wire throttle . The pcm in both case is looking for input from the transmission.
My 08 p71 is mostly stock will that marty tune really make a noticeable difference seems like people just say its about the trans tune but my trans shifts ok for stock
I still cannot figure out how to stop the fan from running on high since the swap. I don’t know if the ECM is still looking for a trans temp from the trans temp sensor or what? The fan worked normally before the swap but now stays in high speed mode as soon as engine start.
So you only need to jump the turbine on The pcm lead if above 05? I have an 03. So far I’ve replaced VSS, cut the DTR leads and re routed /spliced for reverse light and starter safety switch.

Just found your channel as I was researching how to manual swap my 2011 CVPI in the future. It does seem like the hydraulic kit is much superior to staying with a cable especially with how easy the pedal install is. A couple questions I had were 1) Is there no hydraulic throw out bearing that would fit and eliminate the slave cylinder/fork assembly? Seems like that might be a big improvement. 2) For easy installation of the firewall stiffener plate I would weld mounting studs onto the plate that poke thru to the engine side and, drill a third small hole to temporarily secure the plate from the inside as an anti rotation device. This way on person installation becomes much easier. Any reasons you can see not to mod that? Thank you for such a detailed video. Too many others I watched skip over the detail steps and don’t show adjustments etc.
I know this video is old but im looking to put headers on my 1997 grand marquis. I was only gone do the short. Cant find them nowhere to say they are for my car. How do i know if they will fit. I have a 4.6 engine and i was gone order some for a mustang because its the same egine. Just wanna be sure.
I had to make my own cat section because yes I did run cats on this car so basicaly I just lined up the headers with the hpipe with some custom made intermediate section. wasnt really hard
