This is strange, I would've thought that tuning the PCM would remove the need for hacks like this. I've asked once before about the need for a PCM tune, but I may have neglected to mention that I already have a diablosport tuner, with which I can modify things such as neutral rpm limits, which I assume is the main issue with doing a manual swap? If I can get away with just using my diablosport tuner, I may go forward with the swap this summer, if I can find a T-45. It doesn't have to be perfect, I'm happy with my car being a beater, I just want it to be a little more fun :P Do you still sell 3-pedal assemblies?

I'm not familiar with diabolosport tuner but since it,s more or less like the sct here is the deal. Unless you have the tuner version you wont be able to do much on your own and will still require a tune. yes i still do make pedal assembly.

Do you have to do any tuning on a 2003 crown vic, since it has a throttle cable?

Just pulled mine in to start my 3650 swap... so these are 2 separate issues? The shaft sensor is what you are fooling at the pcm with the fused jumper... and the gear input sensor just gets unbolted from the factory trans and left in neutral? Thank you for your help!

So you only need to jump the turbine on The pcm lead if above 05? I have an 03. So far I’ve replaced VSS, cut the DTR leads and re routed /spliced for reverse light and starter safety switch.

I still cannot figure out how to stop the fan from running on high since the swap. I don’t know if the ECM is still looking for a trans temp from the trans temp sensor or what? The fan worked normally before the swap but now stays in high speed mode as soon as engine start.

@@p71c1 yes, I got a Marty tune. I’m going to reach out to Marty and see if the tune didnt delete the trans temp input.

3 years and still working like a champ. Thanks for all of this that you, Chris and Marty figured out and shared (Mine kicks an "Over Drive" off light when it gets too much slush and snow up in there, otherwise, it's been awesome).

I've read in the comments of one of your videos that you used to do manual swap for people (if i'm not mistaken), do you still do that? I'm from Montreal and would be very interested. I've been looking around for a year but I don't know if I would be able to do this myself

I did it many times but usualy the cost involved turns 3to 5 k depending what you need and want people away so it,s really up to you at this point

Just to be sure. I need to splice the OSS wiring to the VSS on my tr 3650 to get the speedo to work, correct? I have an 03 GM and when I saw the dummy plug in the tailshaft housing of my automatic i assumed vehicle speed was read from an ABS sensor. I assumed wrong, 😂 and so have no speedometer and a OSS code. I do have the 5 speed tune so assuming (again) that the speed tables have been modified to compensate for different signal?

FYI on my 2006 CVPI it looks like Crankshaft Position Sensor on connector C175E is pin 45 -- but color is still Grey with Yellow Stripe (GY-YE)

I just finished this swap havent done the jumper yet but mine isnt force shut down but it is going into limp mode and throwing a wrench light. Would this help my problem?

so in adding the fuse holder, did you just cut and connect the 2 wires or did you jump between the 2 wires?

I'm thinking he had to jump the wires together in a parallel circuit. The transmission part of the PCM needs that speed signal and it also needs the crank signal. Which are the same speed.

When you say "Jump" the two wires, are you creating a circute from connector to connector? Putting in a "bridge" to the two wires, leaving both wires intact but connected thru the fuse to each other like a "short". Or some other combination of ways to "Jump" the wires????

exactly . the procedure is to duplicate the two signal.

Yes you have to make a connection betewen them by using an inline fuse holder

Can you show exactly what you did with those wires? How are you splicing the fuse holder in?

the fuse has to be in line witrh the wires and not taped on it . Sorry I do not have any vids about this at the moment .

The yellow/gray stripe was the opposite as yours but i found it. and figured it was the right by the pin# you mentioned. Thanks for the video really lots of pain saver.

I swap my 05 f150 to a 5 speed with the 4.6 2v it works good the only problem i am having is I can't get my speedometer to work anyone know how to get it to work

@@p71c1 they are not wired right now there is a speed sensor in the diff and it had 2 in the transmission and my new transmission has only one but I tried to connect to it and nothing works

​@@p71c1 have not wired anything only vehicle speed sensor and the saftey neutral switch everything else is unplug the truck drive good except my dash looks like a Christmas and got no speedometer

Why not just throw the harness and PCM from a manual mustang inside it?

A manual mustang never had DBW throttle on a 2V 4.6, the PCM would not work on the CV with DBW, (drive by wire) throttle which all 05 CV's have.

it,s easier to tune a pcm than swaping the whole harness and pcm from another car and deal with bigger compatibility issue.

p71c1 I just did a v6 to v8 5.4l swap in my mustang I got a bama tuner and signed up for thier free tunes for life. I called them told them what I had and they sent me a tune. Worked out great!

Question regarding the jump between 175e(yellow and grey) and 175t(dark green and grey), when jumping those wires are you just T connecting them together? or are they cut and soldered 1 to 1 to the fuse? Thanks!

t connected with heat shrink. You are not cutting the signal, just tappin on it to duplicate the signal.

@@p71c1 Worked past the wiring, now I have questions about the clutch pedal. Where is your engagement point and how much force does it take to push? My pedal is super tough to push and my cable & adjuster is almost maxed out... I can shift it to all gears but it takes force. Any advice? Thank you, hope to hear soon

I can't tell exactly what you're doing (Mine is an 05 CVLX). Are you leaving them intact, just tapping off each one? Or cutting the yellow/gray (mine is gray/yellow stripe pin 15) and tapping it onto the green/white?

@@p71c1 all tapped and protected. What do I need to do with the connectors down on the transmission? (OSS/TSS/Big White Connector - already put the selector in neutral, I'll figure out where to stow it once the T45 is installed). Is there a video about what to do with the connections on the "05 Crown Vic (LX not PI).

@@67comet the white connector is no longer used. Stuff grease in it and secure it the best way you can .

@@p71c1 Sorry to keep bothering you. Do I need to jump the TSS/OSS connectors down at the transmission? Or are they stowed away too? For the reverse lights do they go into the gear shift selector (that I've kept in N and stowed away). I'll be putting the T45 in today, so I'd like to get the wires down there finished before I do that. (I "think" I saw a video talking about what to do with the backup lights plug on the new transmission and the plug into the gear selector, but I can not find it). P.S. I do have the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Wire Diagrams book, so I can look a few things up (but haven't had success at deciphering this system yet).

@@67comet you need to re use them . Pin 9 and 11 for the back up light and vss remains the same wires but you need a different pigtail .
