hi what's your experience at Leeds uni been like so far? has it been easy to make friends? im thinking of coming next year, but it will be my first time in new country (I live in South Africa) and I worry I might find it difficult make friends / settle in as international student? would really appreciate your advice :D
I absolutely LOVEE it! I genuinely love Leeds so much as a city, students everywhere, not too busy and not too quiet. My biggest advice in making friends would be to join societies!! I’m in a Malaysian, Christian, and International Student society, there has to be an african society out of the many! it definitely wasn’t easy making friends at first as i entered year 2 straight away but being in a whole new country, there’s sooo much to learn and adapt even living alone. It takes a lot but I would say just put yourself out there, you’ve got nothing to lose. All da best :))
@@nicolereginecool yes I think ill definetley join societies then ! also, would you say there are activities for people who don't drink/like clubbing? as I worry I might find it difficult during freshers week if everyone is meeting people through night out when its not really my scene? thankyou in advance for all your advice :D
This is awesome! Thanks so much! I’m coming to Leeds next month for school so it’s cool to visualize some stuff. Do you have any recommendations for getting into the city centre from campus? Like are there direct busses, or do you walk? I know it’s close
Aw you’re very welcome :)) I literally walk everywhere so I’d def recommend that haha I never need to take the bus anywhere tbh as I only stay within 30mins walk from uni (sounds long at first but I get used to it when I only have classes 2-3 times a week) and 15mins from the city. There are buses all throughout the city center, you’ll be able to find one. Even though buses are more convenient I find it hard to trust as from what I heard it’s rarely on time so I could be late for classes and stuff.
