Do not bother with Footjoy, I bought them for years, I have 2 pairs that are over 20 years old, no splits in them, after spending £130 on some dryjoys they lasted just over a year, so not under warranty, after a split appeared between the upper and lower, their quality of workmanship has gone downhill with their after sales service.
Only things that I can think of as to why they aren’t really selling are 1) the traction isn’t what people have come to expect from a traditional style shoe 2) I don’t know that Adidas really has an audience with the traditional golf shoe crowd…it doesn’t really match with what you’ve seen from them traditionally nor the apparel that they seem to push currently. It does seem like a nice stylish comfortable shoe that’s worth a look, especially at the sale price.
Get your points completely! I do think this is a traditional style shoe that does go with the look of what Adidas are going for apparel wise. I do think the tour has a big role to play though. But yeah at the sale price they are an absolute dream! Thanks for watching as always man!
Love style and quality make of these MC80’s . Just bought a pair on adidas site at 70 pounds - real bargain . They come with a waterproof warranty too btw - nice review 👍
@@TheGolfFashionGuy To be fair to yourself your a good presenter but you showed yourself hitting the ball and putting around the Course, showed the sole covered in muck and another side view but never gave a proper close up look of them in your hand. Ie build quality etc. just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
So your first comment should read, ‘thanks for the review but I would have loved to have seen some close up shots of the shoes to find out a little more about the build quality of them.’ To which I would reply, ‘apologies for that Brian, this was an on course review of the shoes, I do have an ‘Everything You Need to Know’ video on the channel about these shoes, worth checking out. Thanks for watching though.’ 👍
Yes: traditional golf shoes and earth tones. Bods designs, not a fan. I prefer bold colors rather than flowers on a polo shirt. Pleated trousers is a big no for me. I know it's a trend in fashion as well as oversize clothing, but it's not nice at all. I don't want to wear the same clothing as an old man.
Love this comment, yes there are trends but really, everyone should be wearing what they want, what they think looks good and sometimes that just isn't whats 'trendy'. Thanks for watching man!
I dont think it would be cool for me to name them, apologies, and also i really hope they don't fall off because the more choice we have in the marketplace, the better. 👍
I was so torn between the nike zit 2’s and the adidas 360 24s. After this video went and bought the nikes and from there straight to have a 18 hole evening round. I have to say these nikes are one of the best feeling shoes i have ever played. Much more comfortable than my nike tw 14 masters editions. If the upcoming us open or the open colorways are nice I will try to buy one of them also.
Im a big fan of the US Open colourway that's coming! Great looking shoe! Glad the video helped man! Always the aim of the channel to help inform people before they purchase and always awesome for me to hear people are happy with what theyve bought. 🙏 Thanks for watching!
Nice video Sam. I’m with you on the Puma Avant…and then I’m different everywhere else 🤣 Just goes to show the depth in the golf shoe market now. Even when we started our channels 5 years ago, there were probably a quarter of the options when it came to good shoes!
Thanks for watching man! I know, 5 years ago we didnt have anywhere near this amount of choice that was coming out on a regular basis! Tour360 could make this list from what I've heard but I just haven't tried them yet! What would you have had as the best traditional style ahead of the premiere series?
I havent yet had the chance to try the Adidas Tour360, I'm desperate to try it out, sadly I can't recommend what I havent tried. Ive never had a pair of UA golf shoes, Im not a huge fan of the aesthetic to be honest but I have heard good things! Thanks for watching! 🙏
It is meant to be used, so use it, they get better with age and will outlast any other bag by far. A delight to carry, and easily carries 14+ clubs, i love that it is only 2 “slots” its either driver fairway hybrid putter slot or everything else. Quality made in USA comes w a price, but after a month you will have long forgotten cost.
Agree with the sentiment on the Infinity Tour! Wore them for the first time a couple of weeks ago and found them to be both incredibly stylish and comfortable. The stack height on the zoom air units was shorter than the previous version and to me it lead to a noticeable increase in stability. I also believe the foam compound being used is a little firmer than the previous version. It doesn’t hurt that I happened to shoot my lowest score ever literally the first time I wore them!
Congrats on the low round man! Can't have been just the shoes but what a nice coincidence! I didnt have the previous version but I did have the first version and they are a step-up in every way from them! 💪 As always, thanks for watching!
I have bought pair of Nike Air Jordan golf shoes recently, and in my opinion if they are comfortable they are too flexible and not so great to play golf. May be I prefer traditional golf shoes such as the FootJoy Premiere golf shoes, or the G/Fore Gallivanter, but I think that sneakers style golf shoes are great walking shoes, but not so great too play golf.
Kinda have to agree on most counts although there are some sneaker style shoes that are great to play in! Stan Smith being one of them! 💪 Thanks for watching!
£99 here in the UK! That is for the 'non wing' version of the shoe, the Wing-Tip is a little more expensive! Interesting to see the difference between UK and US! Thanks for watching!
Brought back some great memories for me. The Ailsa is obviously class but the King Robert The Bruce course is also very very good. That Pro Shop is something else as well and the halfway house at the lighthouse is just stunning. If anyone ever gets the chance it is a must! St Andrews has the history etc but having played them both the Ailsa is by far the better course.
Interesting man! I haven't played St. Andrews, one day I will! The shop is definitely something else, we unfortunately didnt get a chance to stop in the halfway house, if I get a chance to get up there again I definitely will! Thanks for watching man! 🙏
Thanks man! Yeah the Mackenzie isn't coming out if there is a chance of wet weather! I have to say I think if I could only wear one brand forever, it would be hard not to pick RLX!
Grip with spineless is ok but the real benefit of spiked golf shoes is the ability to replace the spikes and as a result the shoes last much longer. Spineless wear down like any other shoe and after a year you will have lost a lot of grip. That’s no issue with a spiked shoe, just change the spikes and the grip is like new, you can keep the shoes as long as you want. Given how expensive high end golf shoes are I wouldn’t consider spikeless. I am also a fan of boa but all these new shoes have laces because it’s part of the classic look, would like to see more boa options as standard
It’s actually good that they are talking about the supplier of their soft spikes because it helps us understand that they are using the same company as FJ which means they are widely available
Good review of nice shoes. In my opinion the Premiere Series are the only good quality golf shoes from FootJoy. But if you compare with golf shoes from the past, such as the FootJoy Classics, the quality of the Premiere Series is much lower.
I think it comes down to the volume of Premiere Series they produce being far higher than the volume of Classics. They do some premium feeling other shoes as well though. 👍
My FJ Icons from 5 years ago is the best golf shoes I've ever worn. I got it to look exactly like a pair worn by Justin Thomas through the MyJoy custom option. They look great, have unbelievably supple and soft leather uppers and lining, and have excellent traction. That said, it is a bit of a niche market because of the price. But obviously it's a market which FJ caters to with these models.
