it could get interesting at 4:50.... could you ? probably yes but not sure the underside of the vehicle will not go undamaged! if the right rock were stacked there and you had a good spotter you might get over that section unscathed! I have seen plenty of similar vehicles at the North trailheaf just not sure if they get any bumps and bruises getting there!
The obstacle at 4:50 was challenging for me even in a Ford Ranger. Although admittedly much easier with a good spotter. I probably wouldn't try it in a Subie. However there are a few good pulloff parking spots right before that obstacle, and the trailhead is not far past that.
@@Valaran1 Thanks for the response. I was originally going to do a backpacking trip in the in the Maroon Bells as well as a couple day hikes, one being a hike up to halfmoon lakes. Because of all the permits, etc. for Maroon Bells, I decided on backpacking in the Winds in Wyoming.
ya... Have been going to Leadville area for 10 years and had always turned left to go up Mosquito Pass abd decided this time I see what happened if I went right. Not in this video but I exited via Iowa Gulch and there were some tight switchacks for the JT and one where I had to get ouy and spend 5 minutes trying to decide if I could do it without flopping....
haha ya! I only post a few vids a year, Will be back there in the Area Aug 1 - Aug 31! This year gunna get some hiking in and spend a few days at each area,
Thanks for the video, I took this pass this year around July 15th, It was much more washed out and with just a little bit of snow near the summit. That little ford you had on the Ruedi side was a rushing river. I hugged the left side a bit to not drive through the middle which appeared to be 2 feet deep. I di it in an "07 Xterra Off-road edition with a a manual transmission, with a full load of camping gear. What a blast, definitely shorter to Aspen Yacht Club, but not faster!
