I was trying to work out why the hell my board was squeaking so much, i replaced bushings, even trucks, turned out it was the cups had almost worn clean through!!! I never thought that'd be something that would wear out but they do

Wdym a board that will last you longer? I have never ever seen a broken penny board. But I see hundreds of broken skateboards. It’s almost impossible to break a penny kard
I'm riding a 28" x 6.5" rocker/no concave deck by _MPI_ made of 5-ply maple sandwiched in between two outside layers of fiberglass pressed in 1970 which I aquired as new and never ridden before a while ago for commuting. It's set up with _Independent's_ Stage 11 in a visually authentic 4" T-hanger version, 60mm 80a cruiser wheels as well as _Amphetamine Speed Bearings'_ ceramic bearings. I paid not even $100€ at bottom line although I purchased all components in a regular skateshop, less than the price a standard _Penny_ board is listed which should amount to around 120 bucks - and I still ended up with an infinitly superior board: After sealing the deck's edge where the wooden layers are exposed it's pretty humidity resistent if you get caught in the rain, it's small and compact enough to forget about it when strapped to the backpack but at the same time it's big and sturdy enough to actually ride it to the full potential of a cruiser in contrast to a penny board which is too tiny to even stand somewhat stable due to lacking weight distribution - and I won't ever wrap my head around why you would pay the same money money you could spend on a decent commuter on a piece of moulded plastic which costs at most $2€ in production and lacks any "soul" in contrast to a well crafted deck made of natural hardwood. The only thing I appreciate _Penny_ boards or rather their more realistically priced knock-offs for would be the cheap and easy access to 3" hanger trucks to mod the front of surfskates or set up weird pseudo 1960's homemade boards and other experimental stuff with.. 😅
the amount of people butthurt over a personal opinion is a joke, hes allowed to think what he wants to think and say what he wants to say, its this little thing called human rights
Thank you. I am a beginner and I am trying to get the basics as solid as possible before moving onto tricks and stuff. Just practicing pushing and kick-turning and that kind of stuff. This will help me progress more efficiently.
Honestly I just got mine and I love it, it’s fun to cruise around my neighborhood, even though I scarped my hands within an hour of owning it I love it. I don’t like it more then my skateboard but I still love it
I can see myself getting a long board. Just got into skateboarding and purchased a street board which is fine but I can see the benefits of a long board especially for cruising.
its not about speed, its about the ride, people nowadays are far to eager to hurry up and get places, take your time, enjoy the ride, and live in the moment
@@kevinmorrice of course man! As long as you're happy. But i think it's still an important thing to know at first. I started skating this spring and bought a cheap board to start to see if i would like it. When i go ride with friend i need to put twice as much effort to follow them or they need to slow themselve to wait for me. It also mean i can't skate as long as they do. I almost stopped riding because of that.
@@GooGoosh22 think of it this way, your wanting to get into skateboarding, but your broke, and a 20 dollar complete is the only thing you can easily buy without feeling like you spent to much, im thinking logically, realistically, most peoples first skateboard is a piece of junk complete that there parents bought them, hell mine was a 5 dollar all plastic 27 inch fishtail that smelled like lighter fluid and tuna, most kids at the park ride 30 dollar birdhouse completes, so long as you love it, thats all you need, its like mall grabs and mongo pushing, if you like it, you do it
@@kevinmorrice i agree with you man, a bad board is better than no board. But if you know nothing about skateboarding (as i did) you might expect something else from your board and the riding experience, and you could get fustraded with the sport. I'm not against getting cheap gear if it's the only thing you can/are willing to buy. I'm just for knowing the reality of what you're getting into when you know nothing of it
okay, no problem I’ll just leave and tell most of the world bc many ppl like penny boards and those are just opinions and personally I have one and I’m grateful that I NEVER bought an actual skate board! And many ppl like different things so let’s respect them. Bye 🫶🏼
Cruiser boards can't handle massive wheels, and I need massive wheels because the roads where I live are apocalypticlly bad. So I just use a push/commuter board which is about 25" wheelbase so it's got the benefits of a cruiser without a kick tail.
