That fluke is a multi meter as it had multiple test ranges, GS38 clearly states that they can’t be used for safe isolation as it is to easy to set the wrong range and there has been some instances where people have been hurt. GS38 requires we use a two pole voltage indicator with test probes tips not exceeding 4mm of exposed metal tips. The HSE guidance free download you showed clearly shows a two pole voltage indicator.
Is there a test mode where the sounders only go off for a few seconds? Sometimes the MCP is on the other side of the building and I don't want to leave it going off until I get back to the panel. Many thanks
Just wot I wanted, nice & clear instruction. But can I ask ? Do you need to go to the alarm point to set the sounders off or can this be done on the panel. Wr have exactly the same panel as this.

We had this with our back extension when built no smoke detector installed in new extension which baffled me as it connects to kitchen and the extension because the new living room whilst the kitchen has heat front lobby has smoke but its a long way for smoke to travel before activating so was really surprised it passed

There are no real electricians in india. In india those who failed in all trades in life become electricians. Basically they do internship under another electricians for 6-12 months and become electrician. the experienced electrician who has interns also came from similar situation so this is a chain of bad training. The worst part is there is not professional standard training course in india to become an electrician.
Hi Dan- I got rid of all the water, cleaned the filter and propeller is fine but light is still flashing for Bosch dishwasher, any ideas gratefully received!
No necessarily i had a friend where his dad owned a contracting place and my friend worked for him...he didn't pay him in cash but he did pay his rent and utilities so it doesn't necessarily have to be cash....you just gotta learn to play the system I mean at the end of the day that pay check is going towards rent and bills any way🤷🤷😂😂😂 😉😉😉😉😉
Don't worry about it cos it'll soon be all digitally based and they will know every penny you earn and spend . Your basically advocating for a cashless society where the average Joe loses all their power to decide who to pay , where to spend etc etc, how do you think tradesmen and women got along before everything went to cards and phone apps?? I'm sure those tradesmen and women would have had to collect cash as payment and then what every person would do is pay their tax accordingly at the end of the year . Why do you think they want a cashless society if it isn't for snooping into your lives and seeing where they can get more money out of you . They have massive power over you in the banks and could suspend or close down your account if need be. Nearly all banks are insolvent anyway and if there was a rush on them tomorrow they'd just close everything down , don't think you've got 80,000 worth of financial services protection cos when the shit hits the fan and the banks go down you can bet they won't have 80,000 pounds cover for everyone of their customers. Banks are closing nearly every day in the US so it won't be long before the next crash, with the US trillions in debt and climbing fast everyday how do you think they'll cope with that?? Oh yeah they can just print more can't they and we all know what that means.
yes it's a stupid and flimsy design and yes they are dangerous,if not the most dangerous and why are we still using them is beyond me,in my opinion we should've gone with type F(schuko) or type G plugs since the 1930's

Plugs and sockets in the UK are definitely safer than those in the United States. In fact, not only Britain, but also many countries in the world are safer than the United States. In addition to plugs, there are also protective doors in British sockets. Also China sockets. Since 2017, protective doors have been added to prevent children's fingers from touching. Plugs in many other countries around the world have also added prong sleeves, including in Europe, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, and so on. The only reason why the United States does not take these security measures is the interests, the resistance from certain industries and manufacturers, and the unwillingness to pay more costs, so that consumers can get safer products. There is no other reason.
I live in a converted town house, grade 2 listed building. My landlord has asked if I (being a tenant) perform the weekly test, is this legal? Or should I refuse?

Darn, got me worried now. I broke the seals and pulled the fuse to my UK domestic property this morning so I could add something inside the consumer unit without risking electrocution. I was/am going to tell the electricity supplier so they can come and replace the Seals.... perhaps I'll just leave it now and deny any knowledge when they eventually discover the fuse seals missing!

I’m in the us and most plugs do not have safety cover mechanisams that require 2 pins to go in so plug covers work well and they actually close off the pins
