Well what I've come to believe is that the crankbait fishing really shines in very specific instances. Generally a noisy environment (wind, rain) and in the case of a deep diver the fish have to generally be off shore. So... I honestly haven't fished them all that much this year. 🙂
Great work, looks awesome. Exactly what I want but I don't have any tracks that far back on my recon 120. This will definitely be helpful though, thanks for sharing!
@@pmm422thanks, I'll definitely have to share my plans. I just bought my recon 120 yesterday and my goal is to tow my kayak with my bike long distance and then mount my bike to the back of my kayak to be able to be able to go where ever I want. Going to be a big project but I think it's definitely possible.
@@NickolasHinderer That sounds even more exciting, I'll have to say that the wheels I used aren't as friction-less as a wheel mounted with sealed bearings so you'll need to research a bit to find a better solution than what I have. Mine work fine for short distances.
@@pmm422well the specific product you purchased is no longer available but yes, I definitely think the wheels need to have bearings, I believe harbor freight has a good selection of wheels. Your wheels do not have bearings..? After staring at the kayak for a bit I thought maybe I could fit something into the scupper holes and after a quick search sure enough I'm obviously not the first to think of this. so I went ahead and purchased a scupper hole cart in order to get in the water sooner than later. But I also think it'll be a good starting point where I'm thinking of inverting the rack so that the don't come from the bottom of the scupper holes but up and over the sides.
@@NickolasHinderer I think you can still buy them direct from Seamax, well at least they are still listed on their website. I see you can buy 16" wheels too, I might upgrade to those.
Great idea I have issues loading my wife’s and mine on top of my truck, 1 being like 5’3 a F 250, and they are Jackson Kilroy kayaks at 75 pounds each I usually use gravity system, I put tailgate down, put kayak upside down and push from back of the kayak and it usually works ok
Hey brother... Enjoy your videos... fishing is fishing That's why they don't call it catching unless you live on the great lakes like I do And I live in a private development which has a 100 acre lake... Can you do more lower painting videos I really enjoy them I also paint lures... Do you have a Facebook page 🤔 ... I can send you a friend request and give you some tips... God be with you catch me later... Look forward to your reply
You can certainly do that and for most accessories I'm sure it would be fine aside from the size of hole you have to drill in the plastic. For something like the wheels where they are supporting 150 pounds and a tremendous shock load, I would not want that supported by such a small surface area.
Are you fishing the tournament again this year? I launches way up river last year and had the same struggles. Id pedal like heck to get up a ways and two casts later I'm back where i started. 😂😂
Absolutely!!! LOL I never learn. I have a more stable kayak (Native Titan) and I am going over on Tuesday so I'll have 4 days of practice so I have a chance to find the fish this time. I still struggle with live events so this years goal is to simply get 5 fish. I think the current will be a lot more manageable this time of year.
I love that lake too but I also have great fishing in lake Washington and Sasmamish which are a lot closer to me so I fish Awyer as a change of pace treat. Thanks for watching much appreciated.
Hey! Awesome mods! I love my Crank 10. I've done a few mods on mine also, but I was trying to figure out a spot in front of me to keep gear like, tackle and stuff. You just solved my problem! Thank you. Can you please make a vid (if you haven't already), on that peddle cover? It's the perfect solution! 😊
This is brilliant! As a 69 year old kayaker troubled by loading my Old Towne fishing yak into my pickup, I would pay you to build me one of these or send me your plan please. How does the ramp attach to your truck bed? www.youtube.com/@raptradventures4544
Well the plans would be hard because the parts came from an old piece of parking equipment and not commercially available. I doesn't work with my new kayak either the hull of the Native Titan doesn't have any ridges for the ramp to slide into. :-( I'm not sure wehat the hull of a old town looks like but it would probably work. As far as how I had it attach to the truck bed, in the video I had a small piece of metal coming out of the end of the ramp on both sides that set on top of the tailgate and then 2 straps that held the ramp in place. I eventually mounted a U-Channel to the top of the tailgate and the ramp also had a U-Channel mounted to it. I simply set the ramps U-channel into the tailgates u-channel and I was ready to load, worked great.
Ya which is a bit odd that you would have moving parts exposed in the back where you toss all your equipment but that exposed steering is the standard.
Hello Mr More. Love the videos. I jerry rigged a swivel seal on my Kayak several years ago using a full size Captain boat seat with arm rests (I have a Jackson Big Rig so stability is not a concern). Talk about heavy...oh my. But fishing all day is a pleasure. I was looking into the seat you have on your kayak. The one thing I see that might be a problem for me is the seat back is not adjustable (unless you get the more expensive one). How do you like the seat angle for all day comfort? Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos. Thank you and please keep up the good work. P.S. Enjoy your retirement.
Well it hasn't been a problem so far, one of the things that bothered me about my previous seat with the adjustment buckles was that the straps would occasionally slip. I eventually sewed them in place so they wouldn't move. If I feel like I need to adjust it I'll put some buckles into the existing system but that will be a last resort. thanks for the kind words and appreciate your support!
Whenever I see someone retiring I am immediately overjoyed for them then get super jealous and angry bc I want it so bad, lol! Congrats man, enjoy the time doing all your favorite things!
Be thankful there are people that make review videos that aren't sponsored by the product they are reviewing. The most positive aspect of the crank 10 is the price tag. It's important to understand what you are giving up when you buy a budget kayak. Sure it has flaws but it was still a very enjoyable ride!
