2024, Lake Wa, Bass Spawning enigma 

Early on, lake Washington did get up to nearly 60 degrees but that lasted a very short time Any spawn laid in that short warming window likely did not survive. We went another 5 weeks before the water warmed enough for the fish to spawn. It didn't help I never did find any significant numbers of fish in the shallows. I know other folks did but not in the numbers we have seen in previous years. I'm concerned that between the Netting and the poor spawning conditions the smallmouth bass population may struggle for a couple of years.
