The Skating Lesson, "TSL," is a joint venture between Jenny Kirk and Dave Lease aimed at educating sports fans and the skating community. The two communications graduates have created TSL as a portal for figure skaters, parents and enthusiasts. Originally a podcast, Jenny Kirk and Dave Lease's vision is that TSL will unite the skating community and encourage its members to engage in stimulating discussion, while providing the most in-depth interviews with the sport's greatest stars and experts in their field, profiles on today's top skaters and coaches, weekly 'This and That' news shows, event recaps and blog posts. Jenny and Dave’s passion for the sport is only matched by their love of ‘holding an edge and looking sexy' and hope their coverage and enthusiasm will shine a unique light on skating and its key figures.

Jon jackson what is it really? Deal with the russians or for the dance team or pressured by the french president of the federation? You cant have all those things coz it would mean to me just a made up story. Be specific and back it up with proof, or evidence like a recording or a video. A report sent to the higher up could also be a question coz you can write anything on paper. Those where just allegations and accusations a rumor on my opinion. If presented with facts maybe it will change my mind that there really is a scandal.. Not all people are stupid or dumb believing only on what the media had said.
In short, he just meant that the canadians skated clean with a juniorish program when asked about why canada should win.. Lol..That's all they can say. To think their artistic mark(can) was lower than rus 4-7. And think.about it, the program was more difficult compared to canada. Ergo, russian skaters were better.
Can you say: L E G E N D A R Y I C O N? Excuse moi, it is DOCTOR Debi Thomas. But it's Ms. Jackson if ya nasty! 😮😂❤😮 This powerful being has overcome so much in life, and at such a tender young age. I recall her overcoming significant racism in her formative years, with her family receiving death threats for her to not show up at competitions, as well as eggs and racist epithets being strewn across her skating locker. 😢 I believe this wonderful woman accomplished an engineering degree from Stanford, and then later an MD to become an orthopedic surgeon. She was discouraged by her figure skating coach, Mr. McGowan, to continue her education, but she did! She inspired me to study both engineering and surgery= surgeoneers! I idolized this superhero. What a breathtaking icon! So very very happy to see Debi the skating diva!🎉🎉🔥 🎉❤🎉 Thank you TSL. 🙏
Meaghan pointing out that T/M don’t look at each other made me chuckle. I’ve rewatched her and Eric’s Muse program so many times (I LOVE it, especially her joy while skating it), and she is literally almost always looking at Eric while he almost never looks at her. His gaze is almost blank, mouth a little open, looking at the rafters, while she’s either smiling at him or watching him as they prepare for an element. I’ve always wondered whether she felt any way about it - it must be strange to always see your partner’s profile (or his back) and rarely make eye contact.
Great conversation! Some very valid points in here. I think Mia Kalin & Ilia would both benefit on spending some quality time on the skating skills & presentation. As far as the quint conversation, I don’t think we’ll be seeing a lot of quints anytime soon. Ilia is the only one who with any realistic chance of landing it right now so I’m not too worried about how many points it’s worth as long as it’s more than quads. I really hope people are cautious about preventing injury if they’re going to experiment with elements like this.
Basically the whole reason I was able to go to the Atlanta Games is because I was one of 7 kids in my school district who were picked to sing in the children's choir behind Celine Dion when she sang The Power of the Dream.
Are you sure Chinese swimmers are willingly taking that drug, even if they're adults? I mean, they could be forced to do it by the government. And there's no question they're doping because, as a person who used to be a swimmer at a relatively high level, I can see it clearly. Swimmers who suddenly arrive and do world records and then disappear. It's not normal. In swimming, if someone is going to be one of greatest in the world, you can see it since childhood and you can't improve your times so much in just a few years. Still, I'm not sure Chinese athletes have much free will on what their doctors prescribe and give to them.
Is anyone gonna find the irony of Rivera on a team with Simone who advocates against abuse and Rivera's Dad is extremely problematic and denied victims
Mykayla is an excellent gymnast, she just said really stupid things. She would never have competed on the level that she did. Of course I am not a fan of what she has said...
Did you say Brooke Mcintosh has a new partner from Spain and is planning to compete for Spain now? I can't find any information about this online. That would mean she would have to compete get Spanish citizenship to compete for them which would make it Torino unlikely if they qualify.
@@CLynn-ip1xi Thank you. It wasn't there a few days ago. I'm not sure if the top German team is there also, but if yes they will have a strong team to push them. I wish them the best. I am sure it was crushing for her to lose her chance to compete at Montreal Worlds.
@skatingcanuck9837 The Savin camp has a decent amount of teams at the moment (The Germans, the "Hungarians", the Dutch, the Poles" ) though I'm curious of where they are actually going to train since Savin is based in Sochi, Russia. The German team trains in Germany with other coaches but then meets up with Savin for competition. I'm curious if Brooke & Marco are planning to do something similar. Brooke did some camps with Savin before with her previous partner so they have a preexisting relationship.
@@CLynn-ip1xi There is an increasing trend of Russian skaters who are unable to skate for Russia to find a loophole by representing another country. I was at Montreal Worlds and was surprised how many Russians were there competing for other countries (mainly European). The Hungarian team is actually Russian, but pose as Hungarians or represent Hungary. As you probably know the male pair in the German team is Russian. They are a strong team with potential. My guess is they would spend time in both places to not only get mixed training, but get experience skating with other elite athletes. I am glad Brooke has experience with Savin because Russians have a very different style of coaching and more so in Russia. We'll see.
@skatingcanuck9837 At Montréal worlds there were at least 7 teams where one of the partners was originally from Russia. I believe that Marco & Brooke will be the only pair coached by Savin where neither of the partners are originally Russian or of Russian descent.
Thanks for this video. Regarding the SP (David Wilson) I find there is too much arm and finger movement. I definitely prefer her LP (Lori Nichol) because it is more elegant with cleaner lines. I do wish her dress was a different colour though. I am not a fan of all white dresses unless it is for an exhibition/ show.
