The lore behind die rise was simply perfect, I loved how absolutely creepy the whole map was. Not for reasons like mob, but due to the sheer lack of any ambience, you are in the center of one of the most densely populated cities on the planet. And it’s just so… quiet. If you’re playing as stulinger, you can hear the cries of agony from the other members of the flesh calling out through the aether. The building you’re in is a living and working space, that on any other day you can easily imagine how crowded and packed it was. As much as I would have loved for them to expand on this world on its last legs. The combination of the radios, and what we physically see on the map…. Stulinger in the opening cutscene said it best “there’s nothing left!”
For anyone who is confused on what happened to nuketown in zombies, well simply put there was an organization named broken arrow funded by us government, they began drilling with a huge drill near nuketown, nevada, usa in search of element 115, however during drilling the drill accidentally hit a hidden nuke buried deep underground which set it off destroying the drill and alot of the surroundings as well as causing the emplyees of broken to turn into zombies, btw that nuke at the end game over scene was from the moon, and it is one of the nukes which destroyed the entire earth and turned into peices like we see in some map's opening scene like die rise or buried
