Wow. You were one of the first channels I subscribed to over 15 years ago. So happy to see you still at it. This looks like a nice fun project - I hope you enjoy it.
Wow, I remember watching a video you did about 14 years ago of your 1972 C-10 with new glasspack exhaust, didn't know you were still making videos! Glad to see you're still at it. Take care!
That's a sweet old truck. Looks like maybe it wouldn't take too much, to get it running again. It sure would make great video content. I would love to see the process of getting it back on the road. I kind of have a thing for old trucks and old equipment in general. Thank you for showing us the old girl.
@@2020jd unfortunately it isn't running any more. I took it off the road in about 2011, it was getting pretty rough then. One day I'll have it restored, not sure when. I'll be doing updates in the near future.
Don't love folks but that was the first type of engine on are go-kart, I negotiated a full $12 for that engine at the flea market as a young kid. We needed the engine for the go-kart and my dad bought a new clutch for the engine for are go-kart, and my dad bought these forklift tires that were solid rubber and made the bushings for them we never had a flat tire. But that thing sounds like it's wore out the engine we had was in great shape and had good power.
I love those old engines. Dad and I had a nice little collection of them, but after he died most of them were sold in the farm auction. I'd hoped to buy a couple of the ones that meant the most to me but boy they went high. I've got a Root & Vandervort engine, and a LA pretty much like this one I picked up at an auction a few years back. Have never even tried to start it. That's a retirement project. But the engine I wanted the most was the first one Dad and I worked on, just a run of the mill John Deere engine. I missed it at the auction though. They were running 2 rings and I was answering questions about some tractors that were being auctioned off at the other ring.
When I was 14, in 1977 I mowed a large apartment complex down the street from my house. They had 2 of these. One of them was always in for repair. As soon as they fix one the other broke. It was a long time ago but I remember they would always throw the drive belt. But being a kid I always liked those tractors
My first car in 1968, a 53hp '67, would peg the speedo at 90mph after I put an EMPI exhaust on it. Later I put a couple of 7.25x15 snow tires on the rear (I was broke and got them cheap). Those oversize tires just killed what little performance that bug had!
ncdot mowed road shoulders with 60s(?) era fords with those mid mounts when i was a kid . theirs had cylinders that raised them so fast you could see the whole bar flexing . have never seen one since . always wondered if they just mounted their own cyl , or if they came from factory like that .
