I wouldn't suggest steps to take unless asked for advice. I would suggest or ask if they are looking for advise, and if so, go ahead with it. Otherwise it is unsolicited advise and it won't be taken the right way.
9:24 - I have never met a bigger group of people who alienate each other than women. Oh yeah, they are land and marriage pirates so they band together making money. So, I guess they want to try to work together.
Of course you make all these videos about leading. The worst thing to the women is having other women look down on them. Making life unapologetically miserable since the beginning. Reminds of 3rd grade.
I know this is a old content, I wonder how do you come out of being the indirect communicator to a direct communicator often times during the transition period people are still stuck in the old style so becoming a direct communicator makes it look like I am out of character or being bossy

"Don't disguise statements as questions" - interesting, in "Getting to Yes" authors say that it's better to make inquiries instead of threats, assertions. Interesting topic to reflect on.

I thought this video was just going to be some goody-goody boiler plate advice, but it's not. This video really gives some powerful advice and should be carefully listened to. For example, at 6:30 she says "Reframing expectations could include saying "no" to duties that are not going to help you get promoted." Shrewd, gutsy strategy. Many other very good ideas and insights in this video.
This teaching is critical for all of us who grew up in abusive and neglectful families of origin where we were not taught how to communicate properly. I have been fawning, freezing and taking flight for years whenever I sense conflict. But, learning to stand your ground assertively and respectfully is critical to good emotional health and relationships. We need healthy relationships in order to thrive. I have seen commited moderate or low performer(L) being promoted over high performer(H) ... L being promoted as managers(LM) of Both L and H...always favoring 'buttering L' category....always giving opportunity to L for org skills.. Some overambitious L resources who snatch the whole part of opportunities leaving nothing for H to showcase and also supported by lamb category LM
