Hey Mr. "Greedy", the combo price of the RS including the wash, and the curestation is 2533,94 € (prices in Germany with your code aplyed) and we cant heat the resin with that?? O.K. another 791,78 € for a heated vat and a pulsing release mechanism. That makes an amount of 3325,72 € for a midsized printer setup! Of course the curestation is the best you got, it cost exorbitant 889,38 € ! Thats more like 2 top notch Elegoo printers !! And where is any kind of inovation? Selling resin for that thing that fit and work?? Sorry. I believe they got you. "Guys on RU-vid" starting like the average, have to check there money, couldn`t aford everyting, have to make the best out what they got. Then they get presents...and change... regards MAX
Hi MAx - I agree that the RS is an expensive machine and out of the sights of some users - I fully understand that. and if i had not been using one for some months now without fault or problems i'd more than likely be sitting here and agreeing that it is too expensive. I also understand that you can buy cheaper 3d printers which work well. Heygears printers from my experience are excellent products with an excellent support network, I dont say this as because I have to or because im some sort of HeyGears Shill I say it as I believe it. I also understand why you think the way you do but you are wrong, im not bought nor have i changed. Could I afford one - at a stretch yes, is it worth the money - that is a decision only the buyer can make based on their thoughts and decisions on what they are getting for their money. This is my goto printer, it is fast, reliable, easy to use and reliable, i can use any resin in it flawlessly with xero hassle, can i put a price on that no, can you ??
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I'm considering getting my first 3-d printer (mainly for my business) to print little cases for electronics. No real detail in our design outside of some simple snaps to lock the pieces together. I was considering this printer because it seems to have good reviews and speed is one of the more important things for me. Would you recommend this to my for my intended use and lack of experience? Or would you suggest something else? Thanks in advance
Good stuff as always! I also tried mixing the HeyGears Pap10 with Jamg He Nebula Gray when I was running low. Everything still printed with no failures on the Pap10 setting.
Thank you so much for making this video! It was super useful and answered a ton of questions I had 👏 Would you happen to know if I were to purchase the clear UltraPrint branded resin and use resin dyes to change the color would this be a good or bad idea? For some reason, I can't find any color options on their website when it comes to transparent/translucent resin
Thanks for this research, it showes nicely that it can handle also 3rd party resins. But what about dimensional accuracy, how accurate can it get with 3rd party resins?
I second that motion. Took the thoughts right out of my head! Mr. Greedy, please run the same tests, same resin, without the PRM. Why? Well, the PRM, with lower peel force, will be a bit easier on the models and supports than without the PRM. I suspect all the models will still print fine, but they will take a bit longer to print, as the Blueprint software calculates a slower “lift speed” and maybe a modified “dynamic lift-speed timing profile” to compensate for a greater peel force. Carry on, our leader, Mr. Greedy!
Just got my heygear in resin other items are back ordered. So to use it I used Sunlu ABS at 30 instead of 50. The model printed great some davits, so few and small that I’m not going to mess with them.
Thank you for posting about this issue. I'm excited to see HeyGears has come out with a printer that works outstandingly well without having to fiddle with a myriad of endless settings lest your prints fail or turn out weird, the thought of which I found quite daunting as a beginner learning about this hobby. In looking for the right machine, I just want to print and paint cool figures. Good to know it will work with other resins, as I was concerned about that given the comments on other sites.
Any plans to test elastomeric resins? very keen to understand if they will work with the Reflex.. definite deal breaker for me at the moment. p.s. thanks for the videos, great stuff!
I think the printer is good, their atremp at locking the consumer in their ecosystem is greedy. I'd like the option to buy these printers but unless they open up the settings i am sticking with Elegoo
Thanks you for this. Really appreciate the effort you're taking to show this machine isn't as locked out as some think. I ordered my RS with PRM last week. Hopefully they have started shipping and I should get notice it's on the way soon.
You mentioned the FEP at the end of the video - I can't find replacement FEP on heygears site and it looks custom? Is it? Also can't find any details about replacing the FEP. Might be a good "Corner the market" video for you to make to educate us all?
The HeyGears FEP comes as a unit with the gasket, they call it the "release film module". Unlike most consumer printers it's simply unscrew the old one and screw in the new - no tensioning or trimming needed. More expensive, but they also say their FEP lasts a lot longer (even longer with the PRM), though they couldn't tell me how long exactly because they were stull doing the endurance testing. It looks like they don't have any replacement modules for the RS tanks available at the moment.
Today I've been chatting with people of HeyGears and they've told me they have just come back from holidays today (1-7 October) and they had troubles with the printers (they're out of stock until today, they say)...so we are still waiting for the tracking info from Heygears. On the other hand, the support team doesn't seem to be so much proactive (at least for regular customers) I've been writing emails for 2 weeks and none has answered them...until this morning when I've succeed chatting with one of their team. I don't know what to think about HeyGears. Let's see!
Man I love this guy. I’m looking to mass print terrain for DnD without wanting to pay the premium for miniature detail, and this is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you!
@@greedy3d480Any idea which setting yields the best results for the Sunlu ABS like resin? They have a crazy sale right now. I got 4kg for like $70. The reflex RS arrived in the mail today too and I just ordered it 2 days ago, kind of strange lol because it arrived alone
Really appreciate the video. Do prints look any better with Heygears resin or are they not very distinguishable from the 3rd party resins you've tested?
Great video. Looks like the resin options are opening up. Can you try printing a series of clear and colored transparent resins like Anycubic high clear and the Siraya clears?
When i slice my models like heads support them from the key hole ok sometimes they dont line up but that depends on how many supports you add or how many you remove from what the auto support has place and it works for me but hair dryer for the win for me
I need an Info. i also have the RS and i install the vat heated but im not using the pusle module. i try with some 3th brand resin and also with Heygears parp10 orange resin but the supports left a lot fo mark on the model. The previous resin print Reflex instead works perfeclty with the original resin and didnt left any marks. Do oyu have also this "issue" with the heygears and not original resin?
