First thanks for the test. I bought the AC. Clear resin and I will try also on the RS when it will arrive Yes, this printer can print clear resin off course, but the result is far far away of the quality of the reflex with their resin ( very expensive) . That is the best clear resin that I ever used
Hi there Anthony, i was wondering if you have tried Sunlu Water Washable Resin in this printer? My main reason i havent ordered one of these printers is because this is my normal go to resin. If i cant use this then sadly this printer is just not for me. If you haven't tried it and you happen to have a little bit of sunlu water washable lying around that you can use i would very much love to see a video on if it works. I think people would love to see videos on other resin brands too. If they work it would go a long way towards getting people to buy this printer.
Thanks for that. I haven't printed with clear resin yet, but I have a couple of models that need windows, and if I could print them I could get them to fit better than my currect technique of cutting up disposable plastic food containers. Have you tried to print something thin and clear, like a window? If so, how good is the transparency?
I'm very tempted. Only a few reasons why im hesitant. Firstly the fact the heated vat is extra & included with the GKTWO. Secondly there is no carbon filter which again is included with the GKTWO. Thirdly the covering of the top of the build plate.. again that doesnt happen with the GKTWO.. You've just proved the last hesitation with this video. There are a few figures i would like to print that parts really want to be printed with transparent resin. The rest of the machine is the definite winner between the 2 choices i have. Thank you for doing this in time for me to focus on the other hesitancies before the offer closes & decide if i want to pay extra to have the heated vat which i know I'll need being UK & if i really want the inbuilt carbon filter as i think it is another needed item or i need to work a different system out. Id still vent outside even with the GKTWO. But reducing fumes in the room to start with still seems important to me
would you be willing to try some special resins? I make 3D printed action figures and use exclusively resins from resione because they are the only manufacturer that makes resins specifically for action figures.. so it would be awesome to see how their new tough 74 resin would print on this 3d printer.. could you also try their anti-impact resin.. that one is a bit temperamental and that heated vat will surely come in handy with handling this resin.. and it would be great if you could also try f69 resin.. it's a rubbery resin which requires quite a bit of experience in 3d printing to print successfully, but it is amazing when printed.. cheers!
If the company want to send me some to test then I would it is really expensive resin by the look of it so I can't justify purchasing it just to test it... but if somebody from the company wants to send it me I will test it until the cows come home 😀
@@greedy3d480 I am certain they would send you test samples.. but I guess you'd have to reach out to them and ask for samples.. I am really looking into entering the heygears system, but I can't justify the price of admission if I can't use my resins with heygears printer :/
I know this video is about 3rd party resins. I have a good bit of info though. I emailed support and asked them if it would compatible with their ABS-like resin. They told me that the RS would support many more resins, including their ABS-like in the future.
Just for clarification, does one need to have a bottle of the heygears proprietary resin to use first that you would then refill or would you only need to select the profile setting of said resin? Thanks
Are you using the print release module with this? If so, can you comment on how it effects the ease of removing supports? I can’t afford the PRM but it seems a lot of reviewers have it.
With all the issues I have been having with my Saturn 4 Ultra - I have requested a refund. I will be ordering this in it's place. Speed be damned - I just want reliability. If I have to print the plate twice to get 1 good print, then I can print with this once and be done in probably less time .
I'm having a hard time with this printer. When the reflex was announced a bunch of RU-vid channels including once in a six-sided Dice and faux hammer and a few others, all said the same thing great printer but because you can't adjust the settings and it is locked into the proprietary system it makes it hard to correct when there are issues. Now the RS is announced and everyone is gushing about a printer that is for all intents and purposes exactly the same as far as the quote unquote flaws that were mentioned previously with the reflex. I don't understand how these two printers with basically the same issue of proprietary resin and no way to adjust exposures when things don't for example adhere to the build plate or have issues with supporting is continually now being stated to be amazing and the best printer ever. What has changed? Why is the RS amazing while the reflex isnt, considering that if you have issues with bed adhesion (as an example) you cant correct for it or resolve thar issue.
As time has passed it's more evident that proprietary resin is not necessary, though you should not expect customer support for resin setting issues if you don't use theirs. As well, it appears they are starting to bring out more consumer-priced resins. Unlikely to be as inexpensive as SunLu standard, but the $30-40 range is more reasonable.
For me both printers work pretty flawlessly with 3rd party resins..I've not encountered issues just do a couple of test prints to find best profile ....I've probably uses morev3rd party resins than most tbh with virtually no failures
Question for clarity, Greedy: I think I heard you say/show that (in this video) you used the “heated resin tank” in the RS machine, but in the Blueprint software, you selected the “regular resin tank” (instead of the “heated and pulsing resin tank”) for the profile setting prior to printing this “clear” figurine. Is this correct, and can you explain why you didn’t choose the “heated and pulsing resin tank” setting? Is it because you didn’t want to use the “heated tank” function for this print, and/or you not using the “pulsing release” functionality?
If the heated tank is installed it will heat up automatically even if you choose standard tray ...the RS knows its in there and uses it ..haven't got prm connected ATM
@@greedy3d480 Thank you for that info. Ok. That raises more questions. So, the RS knows the “heated tank” is installed, so it automatically runs the heater, even if you select the “regular tank” in Blueprint software? But then, what about the PRM? You don’t have the PRM hooked up to the RS. Does Blueprint see that you’ve selected “regular tank” and ignore “trying” to activate the PRM, or does the RS “sense” that you don’t have the PRM control cable (and/or air hose) attached and then just ignore the PRM anytime you select the “heated and PRM tank” in the Blueprint software? So confusing!
@@dovmerrill804 if you disconnect the PRM it will still recognise the heated tank - just select NON PRM option in Slicer- honestly its very untuitive - ive diconnected it and used heated tank zero issues
I did use the heated resin option I just didn't want to use the prm for this as I wanted to test it without it but still heat it.. selecting the normal tank if you've got a heated tanking will automatically heat the resin for you so you don't have to select prm
