It's crazy how the entire clothing and shoe industry uses the words, "veghan leather" instead of vinyl or plastic because, if they did, they wouldn't sell anything. I bet those Feelground shoes cost just a couple dollars to make. None of these shoes have real rubber soles either. I tried Vivo Barefoots in my restaurant job and slipped and fell too many times. The soles are also a slippery plastic material. All of the shoes are uglier than sin but the SoftStars are made with the best quality materials.
Matt, thank you for your hard work in uploading these videos. I am 69 with a one year history of a painful right hip. It seemingly started after I started doing hip stretching exercises after being told by a trainer I had poor flexibility in my hips and lower extremities. Never had any bad nor hip pains before. I could have overdone the stretching exercises causing some injury by pushing on with the stretching despite warning pain symptoms. Finally was diagnosed with osteoarthritis by an orthopedic surgeon with x ray showing joint space narrowing and acetabular spurring. No bone on bone yet. After viewing a multitude of videos, I am getting to believe that muscle strengthening is the key. So I have become hooked to your videos, and am very interested in your follow along videos.
I lived in Japan and found this so hard! If i had to use a squat toilet I'd fall backwards! I could see how the elderly could get up and down from sitting on the floor, something my own grandparents would never do!!
I would appreciate the full version! I was feeling hopeless about my arthritic hip, but you and your exercises and stretches have been so encouraging. Thank you!
When I visited my son in Japan back in 2006, I was 52 years old and from Canada. Whilst in Japan, we slept on futons on the floor. I remember waking up one night, wanting to turn to my other side (I'm a side sleeper) and when I went to move, I was totally seized up. lol So, I stayed in that position.
A. I mostly enjoyed this video. You clearly have a strong appreciation for strength and body awareness. It makes me curious about what you have to offer (this was my first time watching your content). Part of why I appreciated is the skepticism with which you approve this topic. B. That said, the snarky comments about hippies and patchouli -- feels cheap and dismissive. Just stick to the facts and offer your honest critique and you'll do a great job. I say this and I fully agree that a lot of the new "healing modalities" warrant strong skepticism. C. I don't think 2-3 official sessions is a sufficient range of experience to offer the very confident analysis that you deliver. I'm not suggesting that you/we shouldn't be skeptical, but many "experiential" modalities (hope that doesn't trigger a hippie comment!) require more investment and training to "click" and work for people. Yoga does wonders for me. But it only really started clicking for me in a deep way after 15 years of practicing on and off. Does that mean that you shouldn't offer an opinion after 2-3 sessions? No, but maybe a more qualified opinion would seem more balanced.
Romain legonaries did 20 miles a day with 60 to 85 lbs of gear in sandal boots with no arch or ankle support. Not sure the supports make a human more capable. Conditioning does.
This could help me get in and out of a kayak, but what are other exercises that could help me. Balance and bending for sure. Right? I do calf raises while I brush my teeth, BTW
This worked great for me! The idea of stretch under load is new to me and I’m going to apply that to other tight muscles. I ended up putting a chair in front of me for safety as I pushed deeper and it was a crazy feeling when the hamstrings let go! It was like they finally felt it was safe. Thanks a lot !
I had a car accident. The lady hit me and then left the scene. Basically T-Boned me gently. My back was pretty messed up, herniated disc and then had an X-Ray which shows Facet joint syndrome , pain meds were good once we got the right ones. The changing factor for me was chiropractic treatment. He told me my pelvis was twisted in the accident. He adjusted it and two days later mostly all my pain and discomfort is gone.
As a kid always sat with legs in a W until I was an adolescent; and have never been able to sit cross-legged. I’m a senior and would still love to be able to sit cross-legged. Will work on these. Thanks.
I spent $2,900 on a custom ergonomic chair which included a session to measure all of my ligament dimensions. They were really kind, and the service was good. But when taking it home I found I am forced to sit in a really weird position that forces me to sit partly on my back, and after even 5 minutes I already have lower back inflammation and it is unbearable. I’m so disappointed but can’t ask for a refund as they really put efforts to make it work for me
Thanks, my hip flexors and all glutes are locked up and painful, and yes I have not stretched out for a long time and then go and strain them. I will do these stretches straight away😀
Theres only 2 words you need to fix this for ANYONE. Good Posture. Exactly this will have a wide array of different exercises for everybody unless their physical past is the same.
For me i always had tight overactive muscles on my right which also pinched my nerve around the my right shoulder blade , secondly my left leg felt unstable and weak while walking … thirdly i lacked thoracic rotation on my left compared to my right due pelvic rotation
Thank you so much! This video was so helpful. I have chronic shoulder tension. It’s so bad i feel like my shoulders are strangling me when i do tricep stretches.
