It's funny to think that Don Draper from Mad Men was the one who made this happen in his universe, and that he went on to make other ads for Coca-Cola. In short, Don found peace within himself and found success.
Used to like the ad and the 70's and 80s were the 2 best era to be a part of .However I will never even take a sip of Coca Cola to save my own life, Boycott this Zio brand!
I was born in 1972, so it is likely that my memories of this commercial are from the Christmas remake they did in 1977 with the singers holding candles. However, I'm sure I remember both and the reunion one in 1990. Such a treasured time to have grown up. The young kids of today have no idea what it was truly like.
God probably the first Tv Ad that i ever caught onto as a 5 year old love the Ad song even now i still play it much lessons to be learned by its sentiment especially in these unrestful times.
We've really gone backwards from then.... you look at 2024, and everyone is cruel to each other, and suspicious of one another.... there is a reason they call it the good old days...
I remember this propaganda as a kid in 1971. Didn't like it then, and don't like it now. Hey everyone, drink sugary drinks that will rot your teeth and lead to adulthood obesity. Proud to be soda-free for 30 plus years!
@@joelperry8187 We actually had hope in the 1970s that things would become better for everyone. No more war. Equality for all. Racism would be eradicated. That hope certainly died!
I remember this period of time very well. We had hope that things would get better for everyone. We wanted to be loving and "buy the world a coke." Not because of cheap sentiment but because we had hope. To see the ugliness, bitterness, meanness and such terrible, angry people today is a difficult thing to witness because I remember a better time.

Respectfully, I don't find Western "values" as being valuable to anyone currently. American values seem to consist of hatred, bigotry, entitlement, violence, and outright lying. America is the country of children being shot to death at school - yet no one in power is moved enough to exact better gun laws and ban assault rifles. America is the country whose citizens will shoot a person because of a traffic mistake. It's a place where a lying, criminal, felonious, adjudicated rapist, insurrectionist fraud who vows to be a dictator might very well get reelected. So, what values truly still exist in America?
