I followed the instructions perfectly, except for cooking it at a slightly higher temperature, 395 degrees, for 50 minutes, and it was not a delicious meal at all. I slightly seasoned the 80-20 ground beef with salt only, plus fresh thyme and dry, but the meat, mushrooms, and onions needed more seasoning. I did salt the potato layers as indicated. Plus, I used whole milk, not cream. In short, the whole meal was tasteless, unfortunately.😶
Hi, I am sorry that this dish was not to your liking ,as far as seasonings are concerned these are basic guidelines, for a balanced dish , if your taste requires a little more salt or black pepper feel free to add them.have a nice day🙂

As a rule of thumb, I always follow a RU-vid recipe as closely as possible to obtain the best outcome. And I found it odd that it needed more seasoning than indicated, considering what attracted me to it was its simplicity.
