I’ve been there many times, and so I can say that your video is very well done. Unless I’m just confused, it looks like you “created” a picture of a Galveston ferry headed right for the GISP bay walking bridge, which of course is impossible !

Nice job you're doing with the rig. There's no question that the older rigs were built so much better than most of the stuff coming off the assembly lines now. I think it's far smarter to do what you are doing and the renovation process allows you to pick out the stuff you like. Save travels and enjoy!

When you’re breaking down you rig to go home. 1. Dump the black tank 2. Dump the gray tank 3. Fill the gray tank 4. Fill and dump the black tank at least 2 times 5. Dump the gray tank 6. Add two scoops of “Happy Camper” - it adds enzymes and deodorizes. 7. Fill the black tank about 1/3rd+ full. 8. Hit the road and let the black tank slosh around. (The first time you do this fill and dump the black tank until the tank gauge registers empty, or starts to register less than before. Eventually it will become accurate and not register 1/3rd+/- when it’s supposed to be empty) If you do this regularly the solids that have built up in the tank and on the gauge float or sensor will be washed away and the smell will dissappear and your tank gauge will start registering accurately - unless it’s broken. You don’t have to do this every time you dump - just when you break down to get on the road. It’s all about washing all the solid buildup off the bottom, and the side walls of the tank. I’ve been doing this for years and between the wash out procedure and the “Happy Camper” the nasty toilet smells are gone and my tank always registers empty when dumped and always accurately reflects the black tank level throughout the trip. “No I don’t represent Happy Camper” - if you find something like it - use that. I’ve just found it to be my favorite.

SORRY, but "dark enough to look at the eclipse" doesnt cut it. Dark has nothing to do with it. it is the suns uv rays that burn out your retina. A sliver of the sun still puts out uv rays that will burn out your eyes. They even warned against the cheap bogus Chinese glasses that people were buying to look at the sun. They do not block the rays, they only darken.

I live in Bellville, an a volunteer firefighter for Bellville Fire Department and Paramedic with Austin County. The noon siren is a historic marker for the locals. Many moons ago, the volunteer fire department used to receive their notifications about a fire via that siren. They would respond to the fire station to get the information they needed to provide fire suppression and any rescue services they were needed for. This was the only way the volunteers would get notified.

PPG Omni automotive paint with all the Omni components is so easy to do and only sand once before painting. If its hot get the extra slow reducer to let it flow out. Practice on something to set the gun and it would have been a long weekend, not three months. If you're smart enough to do the job you did, I'm positive you could manage using automotive paint and get it done once and walk away. If I can learn to do it anyone can. Enjoyed watching anyway, Thanks . DS
@RoamingWithRosie
@RoamingWithRosie 23 дня назад
Thanks for the feedback - what kind of sprayer did you use and secondly will the Omni stick to the Rustoleum once sanded? I take it that the Omni is not a single stage paint and would need to hit with clear coat.

We are lifelong Texas residents, currently living full time in our rv with traveling in the summer. Texas Storm Chasers is our absolute "go to" for weather conditions year round. They have saved lives and even have some of their actual footage in the movie Twisters. Yes, Texas has bad weather at times, but if people just take the time to find out what to do in bad weather conditions, like you have, their time in Texas will be less scary. Now we are working in northwest Montana and it's fire season so we have those factors to consider and be wary of here. But in no way would this affect our coming here and enjoying this country.
@RoamingWithRosie
@RoamingWithRosie 23 дня назад
Thanks for the input. We home base in New Mexico currently and even watch Texas Storm Chasers to check weather events near the state line. I like the calm way they report as well. I hope we helped many to make a plan ahead. There really is no way to avoid unexpected weather anywhere we travel these days. And fires popping up so much in the west. All we can do is be informed & know what to do. Stay safe.
