Thumbnail is pure clickbait, but I still feel like you mostly redeemed yourself by keeping your title honest, and demo'ing a drone helping to set a climb line. Also, you always have the most beautiful trees in your videos. Jealous. I'd love to climb some of them just for fun. I also have a tree climbing/knot/friction hitch focused channel, so, from one tree climbing RU-vidr to another, I salute you and everything you're doing for our relatively unknown and niche community of passionate people. Definitely not trying to promote my channel in your comments section like an inconsiderate rube; I'm legitimately just introducing myself in case you haven't encountered me in your feed yet. Trying to be friendly and network is all. Best wishes, sir! Be safe up there!
I would’ve (not attempted) undercut only and sacrificed the fence. 😁 The vertical dead tree hanging by rope scared me. Sawing down wind is also problematic. Well done.
It’s not that difficult I’ve not knocked down dead leaning trees millions of times it’s easier than anything to see a little bit of common sense and yours your brain
Ever think of getting yourself a fixed line puller like a Tirfor? Both the 3/4 ton and 1.6 ton ones are what I have. Lots off application to use on leaners and hung up trees and whatnot. They can add a lot to tree work safety, and sometimes expediency.
Think about how you would do it differently when it goes wrong. That was perfect mate, the hardware did it's job and the neighbouring trees offered support 🙏
Give a few of the crew a go-pro on their helmets and film in landscape mode. This could easily be a 30 minute video and everyone would watch the whole thing. Nicely done though!
I can tell you are in front of a green screen and using AI to film, ya that`s right, we are on to you .Fake Fake you should get an Oscar. I can see the chain is not moving, I`m going to universal Studio to find what lot you are on, See you soon.
It would be easy enough to calculate the mass of the tree, then estimate the tension required from each of those three lines. I'm not trying to throw shade, and I don't know of safer options, but the static and dynamic loads were probably enormous as the mass was lowered.
I’m fairly certain that the goal is to try and make the logs land flat. That way there is minimal damage to most things; such as getting the logs buried or tearing up the yard by having to fill the hole in or not opening up the water table.😊
