I’m asking cause I’m interested to do sewing after watching many videos and yours ❤If I buy vintage patterns from any online shop , how is it fit to my actual size ?
I’ve been sewing for over 50 years (yes I’m that old) & I learned something new. Your measured cardboard that you use while you were ironing is genius! Thank you, I will make one & use it, so time saving!
Boa noite Gostaria de comprar o tecido em bordado inglês modelo da Burda no. 06.2021. Saia 132 Como fazer? 0s meus antecioados agradecimentos Alcinamestre@hotmail.com N
I recognised this straight away! lovely fabric. My mom made this for me, from an old pattern of hers, in 1970. It was my first proper nightie, when I went away to school! trying to find the pattern now from my mom's stash :)
unfortunately I don't know any polish books about embroidery. but I know some old books are available in archive.org and www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/ You could try it there :)
This is honestly a lot art. Please do a video show how you tie off and start your stiches to secure them a step bynstepmfor a small flower, it s needed. Thanks keep inspiring.
I love this time in fashion. Buttons, not many metal fasiners or zippers yet but lots of pockets. 1930 magazine survived in such great condition. I found a couple of Woman s magazines from the 30s, with a little bit of fashion, but I d love to find a Paris 1930 s fashion magazine, that would be the ultimate find. Thanks for up loading, no issues with copy rights?
I love this era too. For me it's like dressing as a character from Agatha Christie's Poirot :) To my knowledge the magazine is old enough to be on the public domain and the company is not existing any longer, that's what my research showed :)
You did such a great job on this. And your accent is lovely, where are you from? I haven't sewed an outfit ever; I've only made quilts. But I hope to learn! Thanks for the video😊 P.S. The King Frog saying "good day" made me smile, my late friend used to say that to me all the time. So thank you😊
thank you Sarah! I'm happy my lovely frog brought up some sweet memories. I wish I could make quilts, maybe one day. And I guess that's my Hungarian accent :D
@@atelierparva9569 I know nothing about quilt making. I'm just following a book I found in my shed that belonged to my great grandmother. It's been really helpful in giving measurements for each square, then showing you how it all pieces together. Awesome! My great grandfather spoke fluent Hungarian, but I never met him. I hear lots of family stories, though.
I,m so glad to have discovered your site. Thank you so much for your time and effort. I hope to one day, come across a copy of that magazine. Thanks for showing us through that fantastic shop in Vienna. Just wonderful! With love, Carmen xo
Wow, I'm sure you won't regret that purchase! :) I really love it, especially now as the summer temperatures rise it's a great option. The brunch coat version is also a favourite of mine
These are just perfect!! I love them and you did such an excellent job!!! They are perfect!! i am such a big fan of that pattern!! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us!! =;)
I am in love with all of these wonderful dresses!! I wish so much that we still dressed in such a sophisticated way!! My grandmother dressed like that during that time. She and my grandfather would travel on "The Queen Mary" to go to Europe, I am looking at one of her pictures right now. Even when I was growing up we still dressed for dinner, or to travel. Now it's really sad the way that fashion is not the same. But to see these wonderful pages come to life! Oh my goodness, it's just heaven! I love watching Mrs. Fisher and all of the BBC mysteries of the past like Agatha Christie's " Poirot " and seeing all the beautiful fashion of that time. I adore all the pantsuits !! Thank you again!! =;)
Wow, what gorgeous, rich and luxurious fabrics!! They are stunning!! I would have to take a loan out on my house to afford all the lovely fabrics I would want t buy!! I can't get over how beautiful they all are!!! Those feathers are a dream!! Thank you very much for sharing the history about the store and all the breath taking fabrics!! =;)
The shop is a dream, I highly recommend to follow them on Instagram if you can. They share a lot of great pics and videos from the shop featuring their current selection. <3
Fabulous! Looking for inspiration for a 1930s blouse and this is perfect. The line drawings give me a pretty good idea of how to draft but oh my goodness how I would like tracings of that pattern sheet! ❤
I'm happy you liked it :) I have another 30's magazine I would like to upload in the future. And oh yes, I'm also looking forward to trace one of the patterns although I'm also pretty scared :D
@@atelierparva9569 ooh I look forward to seeing the other one too. As for the tracing could you put a piece of perspex or glass over the pattern and then use a tracing paper on top of that? That would prevent you from damaging the original I would think. You've made me dig out my vintage sewing books to see if there are any drafted patterns in them and there are!
@@petapendleburymindbodysoulhope glass! sounds like a perfect solution, thanks. I'm happy youve found some inspiration to browse through old books again :)
