They were farmers and sharecroppers and that's a huge part of our culture. So who gives a fuck what people deem acceptable or not. The things we do to honor our ancestors and heritage not your business nor is it our responsibility to be put in a box when it comes to how we act and honor our history. Nobody cares about the historical context many of us were Free Negros not slaves.

Great video I just wanted to add something about weight loss that seems to finally be making it the mainstream. There was a lot of reference to weightloss and I just want to point something out…. Many people give there “lifestyle plan or routine” but conveniently left out the glp1 (available since 2010), Contrave (2014), and sometimes their doctors gave them a glp1 and 3-6 months of phentermine. There’s also the endoscopic bariatric procedure where there’s no scars on the stomach they go through the esophagus… and sometimes need a glp1 after to help maintain the weight-loss. They never once mention that for them weight loss was difficult and they got medical help alongside it. So if you bought a plan or attempted a plan since 2010 and didn’t get the results you wanted just understand that people don’t tell the full truth on how they tackled their weight-loss. If you watched things like Revenge body understand that the host weight loss happened around 2013-2016 which was a peak time for Victoza/Saxenda. That includes the keto girls 🙄 - the diet works but many but when weightloss resistance/long term stalls occurred they got medical help and stayed quiet about it. So don’t feel bad if your journey is harder than others - what matters is figuring out the healthiest and HAPPIEST path for you even if that includes medical help. Lastly GLP1’s don’t guarantee weight-loss alot of people have to be strict with their lifestyle to get any desired results and in reality doctors should be educating & preparing their glp1 patients the same way they prep bariatric patients.
