After the trying times we all experienced through 2020, my wife Diana, a nurse, and I, a retail business owner, realized we needed to look at our lives differently. We had dreams of travel and adventure and we were not getting any younger. So, in our 60’s we sold our business and changed our career path to allow us to travel. Now we spend our golden years traveling around the country, living in different places and meeting new people. While Diana helps people get better, I operate an online store and create a video record of our adventure. Follow along as we explore interesting places, try out new hobbies and do our share of enjoying the outdoors. There is a great big world out there and God gives us a limited number of days to enjoy. Follow along as we do just that.
Hi Mr. and Mrs. Golden's Adventures I am not familiar with up north NY but look for adventures This is very challenging hike/adventure. I am wondering what information the guide provide to participants if I join one of their tours. I saw some kind of bridge without any handle 3:25 hahahaha The land scape, especially the rock formation is remarkable The gushing water is also flattering my eyes. Did you have rain prior to the visit? There are so many dead trees/debris at the bottom. Was there a storm/ flood in the past? Thank you so much for such information. Adding to my bucket list. See you next episode Hope you enjoy my adventures.
Thanks for the note. Yes there were several things we did not do. They have rock scaling and other bridges we did not cross. For more details on what is involved in each tour it would be best to check out their website. www.ausablechasm.com/ it is very detailed

The great thing about Steamtown is that you can walk inside the shop where this work is being done. Last time I was there I saw them putting new boiler tubes in an engine they were restoring.
Had to figure out what a train tire was first... and that heat treatment? You might as well weld that thing on as secure as it is gonna be. That's why they used to hot rivet things.
@@ke6gwf it has a lip on one side as well and then a channel on the other into which a gibson ring(basically a huge circlip) slots into. This way the tyre can't come off the wheel centre, you can still get tyres rotating relative to the wheel centre if they get warm enough from losing traction but that takes a lot of slipping to do.
@@ke6gwf bigger locos will tend towards having the rings on the driving wheels at least, especially the more modern they are but yes they weren't always the way
West virginia has alot more to offer than just a big bridge. There's mountains, creeks and hollers too. I've been to California and back. I'm glad I live in West "bygod" Virginia
Great video!! Stupid drivers suck… What do you have for safety out there in the event one of those vehicles decides to turn around after you throw your hands up at em?
Well hands are not really a good option more reactive. I asked Clayton that off camera. Of course defend yourself if necessary but best option is be your own best witness. Stay calm get tag and description.
