Hello from Texas. My mother is a Texas Swimm. I’ve learned her father’s family is from Cape Sable Island but migrated to the US like a century plus ago.
That sandbar has grown so much in just a few years. Giant tuna used to pass between the island and the mainland before the causeway was installed. They should remove the middle section and add a bridge to allow the tidal flow to do its magic again.
That 4 minute 20 second mark that boat still exists she's a little rough now but she's sitting here in tantallon at shining water marina getting some much deserved love
at 12:21 is a great shot of how you can tell the gender of the lobster in hand(In this case I believe it was a female) It's been awhile now so I could be wrong though!!
I like boats. Stan Roger's "Make and Break Harbor" song inspired me the research the Cape Islander and Longliner boat designs. You video satisfied a little of my curiosity.
I had a custom boat that was mahogany over plywood and built in 1972. Very similar to this style. It had a 4 cylinder Husky engine that was an International Harvester block set up for marine use with a 6volt system. What a great little boat of 20’ to putt around Narragansett Bay with. Wish I still had it.
I've had a few comments about that. I am considering re-editing the video to add narration rather than sub titles. Covid lockdown give me lots of time.
@@novascotiaehclarkswimmsr.929 Don't get me wrong- its really enjoyable- keep that music when you do - or just use smaller subtitles. As a resident of New York's Fingerlakes on the N.Y. Canal system I had a keen interest in any traditional boats planked with white pine, so I sat upright when I saw these boats were. I think maritime Canada's boats should be documented in books and plans similar to John Gardner's boat plan books.
Wow and wow! Those dunes, amazing! Hey I heard the area of East-West Green Harbour is very beautiful and Lockeport. I live in New Jersey and would like to see a video from that place. Good job, beautiful Nova Scotia!

Love finding other Maritimers on RU-vid!! The Cape Breton Highlands National Park is SUCH a gorgeous spot. We were there a couple weeks ago. Great video!!
Clark - I love that you're sharing these videos. I spent a lot of time at the West Head wharf as a kid chasing around my grandfather and uncle. So for the sake of posterity, it's important to get these into the public domain while captioning the original work with additional historical information. Keep up the great work. -Jeff
i know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a method to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
