it is SO offensive that you continue to say "i am poor" when you BOUGHT 11 acres and 24 containers. poor is not knowing where or when your next meal will be. or if you have a roof over your head tonight. your HUBRIS is VILE and DISGUSTING. and i told you this 2 years ago.
Yesterday as I i watched on my TV, thought what a great way to use Free-Sources.. ❤ how it turned out & its great therapy. 👍Great job looks so much more organized.
Yes, I have a ton of raw footage, but it’s just a bit difficult to find the time to edit it into a good video. But I will work on it soon. Thank you for watching.
As the logs break down they we absorb more water and keep the soil moist. The logs will also help feed the fungi communities which will benefit the plants you grow.
Glad you liked the video. I also took a look at the Ominvore's Dilemma and, wow, there seems an urgent need for the kind of farming that Nathan and Allyson are doing. I have a sense what they are doing is good and profitable, but it seems that the smart farming they are doing is ecologically the best thing to do. Thank you for sharing the book.
You truly are self reliant. I had no idea you could weld as well! I think you did a great job, and I can't wait to catch up on the upcoming content. The container build is really coming along nicely!
Thank you, Matthew. Enjoying welding, though that part of the build is coming to a close, but I am gearing up to weld the racks for the solar panels soon. Look forward to sharing that video!
Im building me a shop out of 3 high cube containers now, and man it is absolutely the best thing, no concrete no crazy expensive materials and it’s an absolute Fort Knox!! I found a good thing to have for support and frames is pallet racking beams!! They are cheap and structural steel different lengths, they make perfect steel framing for doors and windows or main support when walls removed..

Great idea. I actually looked into that, especially for the knee wall surrounding the great room, but eventually the racking company didn't seem too interested in giving me a quote for the racks, hence the wooden knee wall. Will keep that in mind for future projects.
This couple are amazing stewards if their land and have listened to it and adapted to all the subtle as well as the obvious with love and care. Thank you, Zack, and thank you Nathan, and Alison for sharing the knowlege you have discovered on your farming journey. This is a good direction for your chanel thank you.
Glad you liked it. I know my subscribers may not exactly know what to do with this kind of videos, but I want to tell stories of self-reliant people. Maybe I will start a new channel dedicated to this effort.
This is my continuing effort to showcase self-reliant folks, who don't sit around waiting for a handout; instead, they work their butt off to create value and contribute to society. And they lead wonderfully fulfilling lives. Nathan and Allyson are the epitome of self reliance. I enjoyed visiting their farm and the video, while good, does no justice to the beauty of the land, their hard work, their ingenuity, and their success. I hope you will enjoy watching this video (+ 2 more) and hopefully get inspired by them.
I have lived in the north and south. USA, Europe. Middle East. The most wealth I ever saw was in the Middle East. The poorest people I have seen were in the Middle East.
I don't know what you plans for this room are, but they better involve lots of rugs and or tapestries, furniture, and plants, because if you put drywall on the sides as well, you will be able to hear your echo for 10 minutes.
Some say there is a difference, but of course nothing is reliable on the interwebs: Level 0 and 1: No coats required Level 2: One coat required Level 3: Two coats required, one on top of embedded joint tape and two on fasteners. This level is often used in areas that will receive heavy- or medium-textured finishes or heavy-grade wall coverings. Level 4: Three coats required, two on top of embedded joint tape and three on fasteners. This is the classic drywall finish, often used in residential settings where flat, semi-gloss, or light-textured paints will be applied. Level 4 aims to minimize visible dents, bumps, and irregularities, and proper sanding and filling techniques are important to achieve this. Level 5: Three coats plus a skim coat required. This level results in a smooth, uniform surface that looks good in any lighting and with high-gloss paint, and fasteners are less likely to show through.
I was so looking forward to this new video, wondering what stage you have gotten to. The amount of work you did, is amazing, the long hours, planning, and redoing sometimes. Seeing the mistakes, and correcting them is just like any project, it works on paper, but not in real life. Funny how that works. The idea, of having a Badmitton arena sounds ultra cool. I am looking forward to your outside painting, and the painting stage of the inside. Be safe, I wonder what the SNOW rating of the roof is, it looks it might just sit there....Just a concern, never know about SNOW, rain, ice, nature in general. Take care, thank you for the VIDEO, its just amazing what men build, we men are BUILDERS.
Just found your channel and subscribed….. what a fascinating and amazing project. You have worked your A** off on this one. What is the total sq footage of the house? I can’t wait to see continuing videos and see what the finale project looks like. I’ve built and know that you think it will never be finished….. and BTW it never will be. There’s always going to be a new project.
Welcome to the channel! Thank you for your kind words. I am actually hoping to have the house done this year, but like you said, there will always be plenty of things to do around the house, especially I am fixing to build some tree houses and turn them into AirBnB's so I can share the beautiful woods with people. Thank you for watching!
Videos are looking good, Zach. Can really see the extra effort you are putting. Rooms are looking good. Nice to see the progress. Thanks for bringing us along.
It's always good to get advice from people who watch my videos and care enough to post a comment. I surely appreciate your comments. Thank you for watching.
Consider ditching the "rugged individualism" and get some help, either an apprentice or family member. Working alone will destroy your body. It's an interesting project and just think your missing an opportunity to build more than just a home but a family... just my opinion. Good luck on the project
Thank you for mentioning that. I do have a Greenworks pole saw, so I will soon use that to trim some of the higher branches. Thanks for watching all the way from GB! Love the show Escape to the Country.
Thank you. I feel a sense of responsibility now to put out more and better videos because people are looking to watch them. I will find time to do the videos!
Thank you for saying so. I do a lot on the house, and that can be time-consuming, but I will continue to publish good videos, if only for the viewers and subscribers!
