He’s a ‘qualified tech’ that says I’m not sure what the torque spec is, I don’t know but I do it this way? Really, using contact cleaner to clean out the filter area in the case.
The 450 XCFW is closer to a race bike than the EXC models. The 350 and 500 are really great all around bikes, but this 450 has a lighter, more moto feel.
Where did you find the ecu? I can’t find anywhere that has one for the 2024 450 xcfw. I’m pist about have to buy one at all but compared to my 19 450 xcf…. Where’s the freaking power!!???? Mid to high it falls off and I hate it. The suspension is nice but the mapping SUCKS!!!
Hows it goin guys. Im 6 foot 3 330 lbs how will this bike haul me around? I currently have a 525 lookin for something a little lighter any help would be great thank you
Thanks for the headlight safety tip and rider etiquette and your excellent breakdown of just about everything ,absolutely love listening to you talk about motorcycles 😊
Super nice build. Would have been cool to hear Keefer's thoughts on the PDS vs linkage (if he felt any major difference at all). I've heard the newer PDS is really good.
Great to hear you got the bike back! I hope some form of insurance covered the engine works! Agreed that a bad fork is a really big issue on an off road machine. Have a slightly newer 350 with the coil forks and it's awesome. The 350 drive train also works awesome. Solid torque, less engine braking than a 450, efficient, long lived.
Mind sharing what part of Idaho you ride.. we did a small single track ride yesterday by the Pegasus mine in Idaho (live in Garland right on the border). I’d like to find some more stuff worth riding close by. We are also building a place in Island Park, but I’ve been told there isn’t anything there… maybe close?
Sorry for the dumb question. But I often see this kind of grips on various rally motorcycle builds. Can I ask about them? Producer? Model? Thanks in advance!
I was thinking of adding a 300SX to the garage....but man, this video reminded me of just how much freaking money I have dumped into my 350 XC-f to make it the perfect bike for me, and road legal, probably like 6-8k extra...what a hassle. Maybe I'll just stick with the 350. lol
Great video Jason. I've got a 2023 Husky TX 300 and I'm doing a similar, everything build as you. I went with the gnarly and in tight single track it's working great. I'm going to do some more open, higher speed riding tomorrow and we'll see if it signs off too early. I also installed the JD Jetting Power Surge 6X and couldn't be happier with it. The other major mod so far is I send my suspension off to Kreft Moto and opted for their full revalve with their XACT AER 48 ReValve Control. Very plush setup now. My brother has two bikes which he has replaced the AER 48s with cone valve forks, and he also rode his buddies new 23 TX 300 with the stock forks a couple day's before riding mine yesterday. Went from saying he would never stick with the air forks to saying, "Those are great, wouldn't change anything on them." I have to check with my dealer about the new mapping. I'll be interested to see what else you do to your XC. Cheers
