2022 KTM 150 XC-W BUILD- Singletrack Weapon!

We took the stock KTM 150 XC-W, and had the folks at Carl's Cycles in Boise, Idaho set up the suspension, and install a TSP head and ECU to turn this bike into a single track weapon!

Man I bet that bike is fun in the single track! I have a 250 X CW right now and I’m looking at getting away from the wide ratio transmission because I feel like they are too wide for single track you end up not using fourth fifth or sixth. I wish they made a 150 XC! I may have to buy the 125 XC and eventually put the 150 cylinder head kit on it if they make one.

I ride this bike, and I weigh 200lbs. I'm coming off a Husq FX350, and I've owned quite a few 250 2Ts and 4Ts. This bike has no issues pulling my fat ass wherever I want to go. I did the TSP upgrade like they show in this video, and it makes a huge difference. You can't beat the weight and power ratio of this bike for single track.

Liked the ride and review. Just think how nice the bike would be if they bumped it up to 200cc!

With the Carl's cylinder work it really helped the bike with more bottom end. I'm pushing 200lbs, so for me my 300 works better when I need the power out of turns, or on uphill sections.

We know that from stock by having Carl's Cycles in Boise do the ECU reflash, and the TSP head made a big difference.

Not enough of these single track reviews for small bore bikes! So many of us want something other than a 300 and no one is riding/reviewing a dream build 125xc/150/200rr like this. Cool to see these bike on actual tech trails and get your opinion. Many folks call them “woods” bikes or “flow trails”. But I always wanted to know if you could use it on tech trails if your a fit dude/lady under 200lbs . Thanks for a practical review. Would be cool to hear your opinion on how much (if at all) the bike holds you back . I would think the low weight would outweigh the cons of lower displacement. Suspension set and proper fueling and I’d think the 5mph tech trails and the 25lb weight savings would be tough to complain about!

For me- 200lbs- it was good on fast singletrack, but once I hit a switchback I had to be on my game to get her back up to speed again. I missed the lower end torque of my 300.

@@offroadunderground8987 I mostly do stuff at crawling speed . Sounds like 300 might be better then. I was just afraid I wasn’t big/strong enough to flip around the 300

It's not bad to ride the 300. It feels much lighter that a 350/450.

I don't get it, sorry. If you aren't sacrificing weight or size, why not get the 300? I've ridden with 2 guys who got these and got rid of them after about 6 months and got the 300. This is for hard enduro terrain in Hawaii. Super muddy, long steep hills, rocky river sections. They thought they would be more nimble, lighter, etc. They didn't get that and they were bogging out or spinning the tire becuase they had to keep it up in the revs.

For me personally, I like the 300, but I weigh 200lbs. I think for a 140lb rider the 150 bike would be fun, but I would still go with a 300!
