If you have the CT10 sensors it will definitely register it. Small chips and bump and runs don't usually register unless you are lucky. It needs a bit more power for the watch to notice a shot. So I would just add it manually as it was later. I like to have my stats as perfect as possible, so I would add it.
Been using it about 2-3 years. Seen dozens of hours of his videos. My friends think I’m nuts. I’ve had my best score (81) with it but not consistent. Biggest issue is I have a terrible book - especially on irons. His more recent videos have more swings less talking and from 2 different angles which helps. I’m committed though. I wish I could have him teach me in person. I think I have my ball too far back in stance.
I listen to hip hop beats when I play. The music is training you to chill out and focus when it counts. it teaches you not to think and to just act on instinct.
Hi, been with JVG swing off and on for 12 years been a member for years, it is as advertised, pivot, be still and you can really hit great shots. HOWEVER you cannot kid yourself. You either do it right or as any other swing method it will not work. I came back to it recently and was rewarded with good to great shots and just shot an 82 from the blue tees. Yellow are the back ones at my club, so about 6486 yds. Tend to hit soft draws to straight shot. Why do not like to pivot too shut…..just my preference. But again it is as advertised.
Cool to hear about your experience with the Venetos swing. I will without a doubt enroll in his online school in the future. Just need more time to practice first. Life is busy.
i have the d9’s and the cleveland hb turbos , the cleveland’s are way easier to hit and are currently in my bag i play to between 6-9 on a tough links course.
I think I liked my D9 irons a bit more, because the head on the Halo irons felt to heavy for me. But it is a matter of getting fit for the right shaft as well. I really love hybrid irons though. Started playing with a set of Adams Idea hybrid irons back in the day. Really loved them.
I'm not a good golfer but I think I'm okay at times with certain clubs. I was looking for a stat I didn't see you cover. Rankings. I am curious to see exactly what they mean. Drive 66% Approach 14% Chip 6% Putt 3% Drive distance 14% Can you shed some light in it for me?
Great question. The ranking stats are part of what I don't like about the Garmin app, they make it hard to intuitively understand what the stat means. Had to go to the Garmin forum to find out more. Here is the explanation: If it shows you as ranked at 83% on drives, then you are in the top 17% compared to all other Garmin Golf customers that sync their scorecard and shot tracking information to Garmin Connect/Garmin Golf APP. So higher the percentage, the better you are compared to others. Hope this makes sense.
So true, I played my last round with my old putter and felt very confident with it. But looking at my Gaemin stats later revealed that I have 5 more putts with it compared to my blade putter. But will try the old one again tomorrow, just to give it a real shot. I feel like those extra 5 putts might be because of bad irons play, so the ball probably landed in more problematic spots that on other games recently. Either way, it is fun to experiment a little👍😉
@@GolfDuff I think confidence matters most with speed/distance control not aim as much which is more dependant on a straight through and smooth (not slapping ball) putter path. I am very much a feel player so that is where my opinion derives. If your distance consistency is better with the putter but your aim is slightly worse maybe your club path was just an off day. I play like 300 rounds a year and some days my aim is just off because some days I am just not as focused on a straight through club path, some days, without noticing I play the ball slightly to forward in my stance and results in my putter face being slightly closed on impact at times. I mean confidence in aim helps to not second guess and produces a cleaner putter swing accelerating face through the ball.
You keep turning your hips in back swing. I just turned 70. I can’t turn hips from neutral setup. It causes back pain. Jim’s method, if done correctly(preset and be still) definitely works. I hit better than I have in ten years. It takes time, can’t do it in a few swings.
Thanks for your comment Steve! I think Jims system is great, and I use it for hitting draw now with some luck. But I haven´t commited to it still. But considering doing it in the future.
dont fall for the blad trap.. They will punish you like you never have before. On those accassions that you hit the blades in the middle thy feel awsome. Hit them any where else and you will regret them.
Looking at the (never really bad) results of the swings, I can't help but feel this is really just a slightly enhanced Wii BUT with only one game to offer. Anyone who has actually played golf knows how often shots are fluffed until gaining some skills...and even long after. I'd say this is a toy.
I used to have a Cobra f9 3-hybrid back in the days, really liked it, think it was one of my most used clubs actually. But sold it when I switched to regular length irons again. Would be fun to try them again, the new Darkspeed versions. Do you play with one length?
Blades has always been scary to me, so I was pleasant surprised when I hit them so good. Now I will definitely experiment more, but it is unlikely that I will get blades any time soon. Think I need a bit more forgiveness👍
Ha,ha! Want to try them on grass first. But most likely I will get something one step back from blades. I think I need more forgiveness. But it was interesting to find out that I liked the blades more than the game improvement irons. I was not expecting that!
@@GolfDuff I play the t100s which look like blades (sort of). They're fast off the face and easy to control. I wouldn't be able to strike the ball with a t350. The offset is rediculous and it looks like the ball will go left. What are your current gamers?
Currently I play a set of one length RadSpeed irons. Looking to get something standard length and less forgiving. As you pointed out the offset on the game improvment irons are crazy.
@@GolfDuff Radspeed one length was my very first set of irons! They were so long. I was hitting 8i 190 yds. I just got fit for a set of Mizuno 243s and I can't wait for them to arrive.
Hi Anders! I currently use the TaylorMade Tour response with my logo on it. Bought a lot of them on sale, and like them. But other than that I use whatever I come across. Should probably just use one ball all the time, but I hate losing my new golf balls. My all time favorite it Bridgestone E6. It was the ball I used on my best round.
Playing music during play is clearly an artificial aid used by some players as a nerve calming method and, as such, is clearly banned by the rules of golf during competition, though some don’t seem to understand this. Otherwise, music should only be played into earbuds so that other players are not forced to hear it as most golfers prefer the natural peace and quiet of the golf course. Players who play music otherwise, such as using speakers, are being quite quite rude and very selfish while forcing their preferences on players who do not want to hear it! No problem, of course listening to music while practicing or playing non-competitively when using earbuds or the like.
Great review! If you shank a shot do you not record that on the garmin watch? I assume shanks mess up the average distance you hit a club per the garmin app?
Hi, and thanks for your feedback. If you shank, you just go to wherever your ball ended and hit that shot and both of them is counted like normal. If you shank every time with your 6-iron for instance, the distance and consistency will suffer. But most people never have just bad shots with a club, so having one here or there does not really matter for your numbers as you might get hundreds of shots with the same club. So having some bad shots is no problem. Many people want to delete bad shots to get the "correct" numbers, but this is a huge mistake, then your actual numbers are never correct. Let the A.I. do it's job.
You don't need the Venetos golf swing, the issue is with your alignment and point of contact. I recommend Tom Saguto's videos to cure both. You have a nice swing by the way. 👍
