On 02-19-22 the Utica Fire Department Historical Society was formed. This group is made up of current and former firefighters, fire buffs and community members with the express purpose of educating the general public in and documenting the 148 year history of the Utica Fire Department.

Short term goals include planning for and celebrating the 150th anniversary of the department in 2024. This will include producing a 150 year history book to be released in 2024, during the sesquicentennial celebration of the Utica Fire Department. Social media sites that will document the 150 year history of our department. Other events are planned for that year including open houses at each Fire Station with a community event to include tours, fire prevention demonstrations, information on our history, and the services the department currently provides. We also plan on having a 150 year commemorative patch and challenge coins.

WUTR is the station that reappeared like 10 years ago after a long hiatus? They should do this again, it's good for people to know what's really going on in the city.. people get a false sense of security and that's unsafe... Utica has never been the most dangerous City but it's never been a safe City..

When a victim/ witness has a head injury one would think proper procedure would be to have the individual sit down. This will help eliminate chance of further injury and also help lower his blood pressure helping him think more clearly, possibly helping the witness/victim more cooperative.
