Fatal Fire- Utica, NY Oct. 1958

On October 6th, 1958 at 9:50am Utica Firefighters responded to 305 Park Ave. This fire in a 3 story ordinary constructed building claimed the lives of six children and 1 adult. The video shows firefighters removing some of the bodies from the building. The 300 block of Park Ave. is where the current Oriskany Blvd. runs now. Viewer Discretion may be advised.

WOW, how sad. I never heard mention of this fire before. Can I ask where all this old film has been all these years? Great we're getting to see it.

Hi Tony, all this footage was found in the basement of Fire Station 7, on Park Ave. we did our best to preserve it and get it digitized. In the future we hope to have it professionally done. Much more to come.

@@ufdhistoricalsociety oh wow. That's amazing it's been there all this time. I've digitized a bunch of old 8mm films from the 40's that were my grandfathers myself with a converter and put them on my channel. Pretty easy, they came out great, but time consuming. Thanks for the reply.
