Please don't take my comment out of context I'm not saying you're wrong. I knew this already but Callum did a video a bit ago he's a antenna manufacturer DX Commander... On the shortwave bands RX only the higher you antenna wire is off the ground the more noise or interference you will hear do the same dipole or long wire and just lay it on the ground SW bands work in reverse of Am reception or FM or whenever your transmitting. A straight line a square loop or L shaped in the ground it works better and you will do better than having your antenna in the air...was only trying to help. No you didn't ask but I wanted to share!!!
One of these has been my go-to for 20+ years. Quart ziplock bag of twigs makes breakfast, twice that for supper. The original paint burned off, I re-did it with ultra high temp black.
I have the 1800 OUPES and never thought of using power banks to supplement itsn charge time. I'm a newbie to all this still. What POWER BANKS would you use?
I was waiting on the next video.. thought he went on vacation or something..now learning he passed away..my he be at peace and may he's family have peace..I have watched all he's videos..even the one's I didn't much care about I still watched because he made it entertaining and I even bought I few things he suggested and now I will appreciate them even more... peace and Godspeed
Doesn't anyone care about what happened to George, he had said something about a surgery or something a little while before he left us, i really hope the best for his family
This is exactly what I needed! My grandpap got one of these years back at a garage sale and was lending it to me for a camping trip, but we were having difficulty lighting it. This video was incredibly helpful, thank you so much!!! The internet has almost 0 information on this product.
... and he died the next day after this video posted... Life is short and you are not granted tomorrow... Tell your dear friends and loved ones everyday that you love them, because a time will come when tomorrow never comes... ... and I'll end with this... What is the chief end of man ? Man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever... Seek Christ Jesus the Redeemer Godspeed Iridium24
I got this radio. It's neat with some neat features but it is not a DX machine in any manner or form and AM reception is horrible. It also only has 9 hour power only, which makes it kind of useless unless you want to keep charging it every day. EDIT: bluetooth is the culprit for the very short battery life. Turning it off increases it greatly.
It's interesting that you only used one side of an antenna. As with any electrical cirtuit there has to be a + (Plus) side and a - (negative/ground) side. Antennas are on different. for the best reception I recommend using two lengths of wire - one for the positive (+ or center lead) of the antenna and one to be attached to a common ground on the radio.
Long time follower of the channel. I just heard from Alaska Prepper that George passed away. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Fantastic channel, he will be sadly missed.
My radio only had 18 selections in the menu. Your menu 19 has Narrow and Wide setting. Now I have to figure out a firmware upgrade. I haven't seen any details on this. To complicate it, I have a Bfong programming cable but not sure if that needs a file or program to work the cable.
No sure why people go GA-GA over AM ? I live about 20 Miles ( or less from the capitol of the STATE...Alabama) and have 2 different radios. GEO-STORM and VOYAGER. I do NOT hear SQUAT on AM for either radio. is this because i live inside a small trailer? Would i need to be outside to hear AM? Don't hear SQUAT on the 2 SW bands on the VOYAGER. ????
