Direct, how to, tutorial videos for DIY individuals looking to save money. My main objective is for my content to help you answer questions to common problems mostly associated with small engine repairs. I am not a professional, but have done alot of repairs hence the name neighborhood go 2 guy.😉
I been going there for years when I was doing the rendesvous .My first time at dixons a freind of mine took me and spent 2 hours in the store , went to the fair there too a few times.
I bought this saw model brand new back in 1985. It was being promoted at a low price as a pro level saw. They gave away a free diamond coated chain with it. It was a great deal and that chain lasted forever. The purchase price was about $250.00 which was a lot for me back then. Stihl and Huskies were around twice that much. I cut many cords of wood with it and still have it. The brand was Olympyk but previously was spelled Olympic later became Oleo Mac. It's a heavy saw but works very well and was a reliable saw.
@@Neighborhoodgo2guy it now has a fuel leak and has been hard to start so I was going to get rid of it but decided to try to go through it, clean up the carb, replace fuel lines, clean it up and see if it has some life in it still.
You could try taking the air filter off, prop open the butterfly, the coin shaped object that sits behind the air filter, put a little gas in it and try starting, if it runs and shuts off it's the carburetor. If it isn't I would check the condition of the spark plug next.
Have a Makita 2401B and i swapped the cord out but noticed one of the brushes broke off. I took put the broken piece, plugged it in to make sure the wiring was right and nothing. Im assuming it's the brushes so i ordered new ones and waiting for em to come in. Hopefully that's all it is because the wiring was literally just 2 wires to replace the old ones and I know it's wired correctly.
Just fixed the same mower, the neighbour's. Didn't take any of the linkage off, but did disconnect that choke thing on the back, or what ever it is. This allowed the carburetor to slip off the studs and get at the main jet. It (jet) would not come out, but was able to clean it in place with cleaner and a blast of air. My first Kohler experience, everybody happy now.
@R3APER6468 I understand what you're saying now. So the assembly that's in the video had a removable"retainer" plastic piece that pressed down on the bulb. I'm not sure if yours is the same? But I used a SMALL flathead screwdriver to carefully pry up on it. Yours may or may not be all one piece? Like I mentioned in the video for a couple bucks more you can alleviate the headache and get one from your local hardware store. If you have any more questions let me know ✊ Good luck 🍀
2012 hyundai santa fe sport...you magnificent bastard, it worked! Losing my mind trying to fix my mothers car. She had a loose terminal prior so it starting going off yesterday. Assumed the battery needed to be replaced, did that. Still chirped, and then i found your channel. You my friend are indeed that cats ass.
Great vid ! Thx ! Is this one in the vid, a model #7924 ? I'm going to rent one from HD. If it bogs on me, I know what to tell them. When u know & they kno, too. There's less talk about it an more action ! 😉😎
Mine had the exact same problem. Fwiw, it appeared when I had the front tipped up, mowing tall grass and weeds for a friend. Perhaps that position caused the dirt to get sucked up into the jet? Anyway, Thanks for the fix!
Your video is likely helpful. Except I have more of a problem. My vehicle was stolen and it’s obvious they ran some wires and it ran for months since I got it back. But about 2 hours ago the Alarm went off so I pulled battery ! Then later I pulled fuses and relay and now it’s not in alarm but it won’t start !
This is a challenge!, Amazon will flood you with cheap parts, OEM will be difficult to find, you could get lucky typing in exact numbers and having something pop up on eBay? Jacks small engine has had some parts I've bought in the past. You could try and locate a small engine shop and see if they can assist you in getting you the part? Alot of frustration in the small engine repair shops with the issue of finding parts available. Good luck 🍀
My man! You are the only correct answer on how to do this! I read and tried a lot of different remedies none of which worked. Yours was the only fix!! Fantastic job!
Having a no start issue with my 3200. It's been sitting for a little over a year, but the air filter good, engine has oil. I have spark, went through the carb and cleaned everything, I'm using correct procedures to start but no luck... I understand this model has a low oil feature that won't start the engine if the oil is low. I'm not familiar with how that works, but could there be a faulty sensor or whatever it is that does this?
No issues with a mice nest anywhere?, especially around the coil. Exhaust is clear? Fuel line is there a shutoff valve? Is it pulling fuel? Can you add fuel directly through the carburetor butterfly and start it?
@@Neighborhoodgo2guy No rodent or exhaust issues but pouring some gas directly into the carb did let it start and then after a few seconds it died. So I went further and drained the fuel tank took it off. Fuel line was clear but did find some debris on that little micro filter on the fuel outlet fitting. Cleaned the fuel tank and reassembled. Amazing, it started and ran. BUT.. now the washer is shaking violently?? What might that be all about?
@Swede109g well at least it's running!, was it shaking under load? Sometimes they'll shake when you're not spraying. Was it on level ground?, no missing leg rubber grommets? Could be a water issue as well? Water inlet valve clean? Internals could be filled with debris...good luck, congratulations again on getting it running
@@Neighborhoodgo2guy Well I went ahead and let it run, figuring if it blew itself up, I'll take it back to Cosco, but it eventually settled down, all is good.. Thanks for the kick start in troubleshooting this!
Can you still ( STIHL, LOL!) install the gear cover having NOT lined up the notches? Will it not if the notches are not aligned? Hope my clumsy question is clear. Thanks for reading this.
I am by no means a mechanic. 💁🏼♀️🧰🛠️But I always try to fix things myself first, if at all possible, and of course, learn along the way. Your video was perfect and now I’m up and running.🎉
Pull the recoil side off, you will see the flywheel and ignition coil, follow the coil wire to the spark plug boot and the spark plug will be underneath
Was there a gasket between the white primer bulb base and the diaphragm (or between the diaphragm and the carb body)? I did not see if there was one in your video. My original Mantis manual's exploded view shows a gasket under the diaphragm. What's correct? Thanks. Ron G.
I can't say with 100% accuracy, it's been 4 years since this video was posted. I believe there's a metal 4 bolt that keeps the primer bulb in then against the carb the metering diaphragm then a base gasket. Hope that helps.
Great tutorial. I'm NOT mechanically oriented but I managed to pull it off with your help. Thank you! Also, my mower started on firs pull after carb replacement!
You did better than the last guy who wasted my time showing how to adjust the carb on a trimmer he finally decided needed a carb. Could have made sure the thing ran before doing the vid rather wasted everyone's time. NOT a good draw if you want subscribers. You on the other hand did a good job. Thank you
