At Hoselink, we’re well known for our Hose Connectors, the very product that launched us 21 years ago. But as time has gone on, that connection has evolved as we realised our products aren’t just helping to revolutionise your gardening experience, they’re helping to build connections with nature and each other outside. We're proud to help people from all walks of life cultivate their own outdoor sanctuaries, and here you will find insights into our products, which now includes Retractable Hose Reels, innovative garden tools, sprinklers, solar lights and much more, and our community.
Whoever you are, wherever you live, the connections made with Hoselink are enduring.
Just want to thank the Hoselink team for this video. It's the ability to maintain products like this that make them a worthwhile purchase compared to more cheaply made products that need to be thrown out after the first fault. We will keep buying Hoselink!!
Perfect! I followed your instructions, and it went flawlessly. I added some improvements: 1. I've cut the top of the plate in at an angle downwards, So that rain will fall towards the bracket and not the wall. 2. I sealed the top and sides with silicone caulking. I left the bottom without any caulking, So if there will be any water intrusion, it will have somewhere to drain.
😢 uhh… what they fail to tell you, is that this product only works with a 9/16 inch hose. How many of those do you see in the United States? The only ones I’ve ever seen are on Hoselink’s reels. Which of course don’t have brass fittings in the first place.
Hi there, and thank you for your comment! Please note our hoses all come with a standard 5/8" brass end, compatible with all regular US hoses and accessories. This video is specifically for our existing customers who inadvertently damage their hose or brass end (lawnmowers and curious dogs are the usual culprits!), and need to replace the damaged end. The Connector with Flow Control used in this video is available only via our US Customer Service team, and is not intended to be compatible with non-Hoselink products.
@@hoselink OK, my mistake. There is a brass fitting on the end of Hoselink hoses. But the video should be more clear that it is only for existing Hoselink customers.
Hi there! Thank you for your comment, please contact our Customer Service team (you can find the contact details on our website www.hoselink.com.au for Australia or hoselink.com for USA) and they will help you out with a solution.
@hoselink reached out to customer service today. They were great and very helpful. Solar light is now working and looking wonderful. Thanks again for the prompt and professional customer support.
My solution (inspired by a compilation of several RU-vid videos): I dug a 3' Simpson Strong-Tie spike into the ground, then screwed a 4' x 4' post to the base of the spike. I then slid a vinyl fence cover over the post. To top it off I added a solar cap. I screwed the Hoselink bracket to this. Result is excellent, functionally and aesthetically, and much better than penetrating the house siding with the bracket.
Carley needs to do an update to this video. Instructions now have a wall bracket template and recommend 35 inches from the ground, instead of 34 inches. This "timber installation" in the user manual doesn't mention the backing board, so this is optional.
Inspiring Mark! Nature IS nurture! Your PTSD, has in fact become a huge blessing to thousands around the world…your wife’s suggestion to relieve her”boredom” also was instrumental in this blessing.while caring for my elderly (keen gardening) parents at a retirement village on Bribie Island, I volunteer gardened at the facility, and had the joy of making it beautiful and productive. The language of growing food and flowers crosses all boundaries! Blessings to you. 🙏🏾💕🎶🦋🐸

How far away can I mount it from the hose bib? Would 10 feet away work? Are you just using the length of the hose from the opposite end?
Hi there! The hose reel comes with a 6.5ft leaderhose, but you can also buy a 6.5ft or 16 ft leaderhose extension. So to your specific example, you can mount your reel 10ft away from the faucet, but you do have to buy a 6.5ft leaderhose extension. If any of this is unclear, please don't hesitate to give our friendly customer service staff a call!
Hi there! If both o-rings are in good condition and they are properly placed in the connector, please ensure the two connectors are connected properly (a lot of connections we know haha!) If it's still leaking, please give our friendly customer service a call and we'll help you over the phone!
To not buy a hoselink. I own 3. I asked for a hoselink 82ft long water hose for mothers day, so my sons and husband bought me 3 of them. They got installed with no issue. But after some time: Hoselink #1 started to leak from the inside, we removed the side plate and saw that the hose mechanism was broken. My husband urged me to call you guys to report it, but I didn't, I thought it's ok, I have 2 others I can use, after all they were all 82ft long hoses so I could still use them from one end of my yard to the other. Hoselink #2 started to have issues as well, a bubble started to form on the hose towards the nozzle, as if the pressure of the water was too much for it, it looks like it's ready to burst 😡, so now I just don't use that hose either. Then I was down to my last hoselink. Hoselink #3 started to fail, go figure . 3rd time is a charm. It does not want to reel back in. It seems like it starts off to a great start, but then it just stops. I thought maybe it reeled in wrong, causing the hose to get tangled up inside, so we pulled it all out to try to re-reel it back in, big mistake. It didn't fix the problem. It just made it worse. Now, half of the hose (a very long hose, I may add) just sits rolled up on the grass and eye sore. I've made sure to take well care for my hoses. After all, they were not cheap. I never let the hoses reel on their own, I always walk them in, so there is no banging or slamming of the hose. At the end of every summer, every hose gets a deep clean, dried, and de-pressurized, and put away in our heated garage. Also, I never leave my water on. Every time I'm done using my hoses, I have the habit of making sure to release the pressure and water left in the hose. And let's not talk about the nozzle connectors, those started to fail soon after getting the hoses, the valve that turns the water on/off to the sprayer just one day popped off, there was no putting that back together, it was a struggle... It's been one thing after another with these hoselink hoses. I fell in love with them after watching and following "Garden Anwers," but now I'm on the hunt for a new and hopefully better product than hoselink. A big bummer, because I truly enjoyed their hoses (at least while they lasted).
Hi @SuchaCaligrrl, we’d like to start by saying we’re so sorry to hear you’ve hit the bad luck lottery not once, but three times. Certainly not the experience we want for you, or the quality we hold our products to. For any breaks, performance issues, or simply to ask a question - please don’t hesitate to reach out to our friendly support team at support@hoselink.com. We did want to let you know we have made improvements to both our connectors and spray nozzle, all in the name of ensuring their performance is top quality and long lasting. In regards to the hose not reeling in, it may be as simple as a guidance tooth becoming slightly misaligned - again, we recommend you reach out to our team so that we can make things right for each of your units
This instructional video is way better than anything giraffe tools had to offer on the topic of installing over siding. I plan to get another retractable hose and I'm going to go with hose link
Hi Rob, in the video we used a 4x4. It's a bit small as the bottom of the bracket will be a tad wider than the post, but the screw holes will fit. We do recommend to use a slightly wider post though, so 6x6 would work well.
Hi there! If you have a bird's nest in your reel, there are a few important steps to consider. Please do not take the reel apart. You can try pulling the hose all the way out if possible, then tipping the reel to try and get the nest out through the mouth of the reel. Ensure you do not put your hands in the reel if possible. If you can not solve it, please call our customer service.
Awesome video thanks! I’ve just planted up Tulips, Iris and Daffodils today in the lasagna way, and I can’t wait to see how they turn out here in New Zealand 😊
I recently seen another mini doc bout mark somewhere else but it wasn’t as good as this! This in MO showed the real raw mark! Compared to the other as it didn’t show this in-depth. Well done and much 💗
Love your channels! Thank you very much for all the information. Retired US Air Force myself. Worked on the F-111F and the Pave Tack System among other aircraft and systems.
Hey there, the best time is early spring but that is obviously a while off. If its looking really stragly then give it a gentle haircut of about a 3rd off to neaten it up and stop it wasting energy, then in early spring you can give it a hard cut back. I hope that helps :)
Hi Ben, Thank you so much for responding. I'd read conflicting information, and so I'm glad I've heard it from someone who knows best. Thank you so very much for taking the time to respond.
Hi Edward, and thank you for your question. Our Retractable Hose Reel should retract really well, and if there's an issue with the reaction we recommend you contact our Customer Service team and they will help you improve the retraction..
I see and put in a safe place the O rings that came with our hose links in thier packaging. Haven't had to use them yet. But i was curious just in case. Been 4 years now : )
