This is DeMontropolis. I love entertainment, whether it’s video games, TV shows, or movies. On top of that, I’m a self taught music producer and I plan on releasing songs, be it remixes, commissions, or the OST for a fangame I’m working on. Stay tuned!
The FH OST has been fully uploaded, at least all of the demo songs. I'll be uploading here and there going forward.
Amazing remix! I also love the way you play, for me what makes mega man great is how you can use the special weapons in creative ways, and you definitely got that lol
When I was a kid this was a punishing game. Now as an adult, I discovered that plowing through the game with reckless abandon makes it hard. But taking your time and avoiding damage or killing enemies makes the game easy as hell.
Its not a bad game. The soundtrack is good, but its not catchy. The game isn't hard, but it's not a walk in the park. It's just a Mega Man game that is beatable on Game Boy and I enjoy beating it in a single sitting. Check out the channel by a dude named MET. He covered this games entire soundtrack with rock instruments.
20:20 Not in Mega Man game but Capcom pulled off something relatively similar in Resident Evil 4 2023. Spoiler Alert: During the last chapter of the castle, the merchant asks Leon to throw an egg on Ramon's portrait in his throne room as an optional challenge. In the throne room there is a Golden Egg locked inside a drawer. And most player uses it to throw at the portrait. However, if the player is patient enough, there's a chicken there that lays eggs afrer some time. So the player can pick it up and use it instead of wasting eggs. And saving the Golden Egg. But now, why is the Golden egg so important? Because later in That Chapter there's a bossfight against Ramon. And it is very difficult boss. However, if you throw the Golden Egg at it, it takes away more than half of it's health. Not quite similar but very genius. Also as a sidenote: It is possible to make it out of Boobeam Trap with 2 Crash Bombs.
i can understand your reasoning behind your score, but I enjoyed the game for what it was, especially the music. Then again, I played it over 30 years ago. While I think nostalgia is a legitimate reason to like a game, I think this may be one of those "rose tinted goggles" moments on my part.
Good god, I know this was a VERY early Gameboy game and with an inexperienced team behind it, but the fact it was given the green light with how slow it is baffles me. On a different note, I've noticed that with a lot of older Konami games, especially the 16-bit ones, the less stages there are, the greater their length (and usually their games on the SNES had more stages than on the Genesis; funny that). Not an inherently good or bad thing, just something I've picked up on. Also, updating the counter presentation was a good call!
1/10? Well, it's close enough to a flat 0, so I'll allow it. Actually, this review reminded me of my own on this game. You're a lot more forgiving than I am, though. I hate this game. Every cell in my body hates this game. Also, new text is a neat idea but is a bit unreadable at times.
According to a friend who did some research on gameboy screens, the reason some games would flicker background tiles was to sync up with thr GB screen refreshrate and give the illusion of a 5th shade of grey that's only possible on original hardware... this technique was abbandoned the moment the Super gameboy's released due to not working on TVs
Yeah, some games like Link's Awakening also used the flickering sprites to simulate transparency, like in the credits. Ghosting was both a blessing and a curse for that LCD screen, since it was also the reason many GB games were deliberately made slow.
As someone who has played the game for a bit, it is pretty bad. Good video overall. But then again, the Adventure Rebirth (more of a reimagining than a remake) overhauled the whole game and created a far more enjoyable experience.
If Rebirth had as many levels as Super Castlevania 4 or Castlevania III It'd be among the best games in the series for sure. The level design, music and looks were all really good.
I am not a Dev member so take it with a grain of salt. But from what I have seen, the Robot Master Stages have mostly been completed. All that's left is ironing out some flaws in them. While Wily Stages are in development.
This review is wonderful, as most of yours are, although I do disagree on Wire and Balloon being kind of pointless, theyre kind of "Back-Up Coils" and i found Balloon especially useful in the Mothriya fight if you take too long, still a great vid tho!
