Absolutely brilliant . The n frame round butt grips I got from the company were also a bit lighter in color than the factory grips. I just lived with it but seeing how good they came out wishing I would have tried to stain them. Figured weight would be different but does it change the balance?
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 17 часов назад
Not much in the weight. The plastic side of grip without the hex key from memory is slightly lighter than the wooden one. Bear in mind the plastic ones I weighed had hot glue in as well so that added to the weight. If it were standard, the plastic would be much lighter compared to the wood. Feels great in the hand. Amazing difference. I’m so pleased with it. The balance is superb. The feel, positioning and hold of the thing is on a different level compared to the plastic ones

I was pretty sure the wood grip will be more heavier than the plastic grip ! (even with the hot glue) Happy to see than the silver and the brass cartridges are the same I will see tuesday when i will receive my 3" 4.5mm if there is or not an adjustable hop-up, i see no videos talking to that but in the descriptions there is an adjustable hop-up Thanks a lot ! And yes, the wood grip is the really final touch who was missing to this m29, now it is perfect 👍

@Waxmax 17 часов назад
Hi, the wood grip did come in a little heavier than the plastic one (without the hex key) from memory but very little in it. Also have to bear in mind that I had to hollow out a lot of the wood and the plastic one is larger. Anyway, the weight doesn’t really play I part to be fare. Yes I could fill in areas of the wood to make it heavier but I don’t see the point. It’s very well balanced. Just the feel of holding it with the wood grip is totally different. So much nicer. Don’t even compare it to that of the white gripped trust me one! That was like holding a brick!! You won’t find a hopup on the 4.5mm model. That’s only in the 6mm airsoft version. It will have the hopup hole in the top of the barrel but there won’t be anything inside.

@Waxmax
@Waxmax День назад
Hi, thanks for your comment. What you saw was actually hot glue. It certainly made the grips more sturdy and stopped that annoying creaking. The original grips would be a bit heavier than the wooden ones I’m guessing as they had the hex key tool fixed to it. The glue also added weight. If I can find my scales I will include a weight difference on my next video for you.

@@Waxmaxoh thanks a lot for the detailed answer I receive mine ( 3" 4.5mm) tuesday I will use pellets even if this is the only size who has no riffles barrel Of what I read even with the 4.5mm BB's shells that will be ok but I will test also with bb's I will do the easy changes in a first time and maybe if i find the power not enough, i will try the drilling but the problem is that the only seller of the complete valve is in UK (and out of stock) so no room for error I thought ther will be m29 parts in french store or Europe stors but apparently even on ebay there is no modding for this m29/629 Thanks a lot for yours videos,that helps a lot 🙂
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 21 час назад
Hi there, I’m guessing you found Bagnall & Kirkwood website which is the only place in UK that I have to sell parts for the m29. I just looked on there and they are indeed out of stock of the valve assembly. I might have bought the last one. Sorry about that. I’m sure they will be getting more in. However. I’m sure you won’t need one. Don’t bother drilling the holes in the valve itself to start with. That is very tricky. It takes a lot of time and precision and the drill bit needs to be about 1.5mm. They break easily. And you have to drill at an angle whilst avoiding contact with the valve seat lip. The easiest way to increase the power is to drill the main assembly which is the aluminium part. Just take your time. Use the size drill bits mentioned in my video and start small and build up 0.5mm at a time. If you do decide to drill it. Go and buy new bits. Keep the hole lubricated and take your time. Don’t build up too much heat and keep cleaning the swarf out the hole and off the drill bit. As for the shells, I have both the bb and pellet ones. I have looked through an eyeglass at both types seals. They are the same apart from the colour. I will be doing a video shortly and I will try and show you what I mean. Basically, they both work with either ammo

The right grip -- ok, you screwed it to the metal handle, but how will you keep the left grip steadily?

Good question! I have already fitted a metal dowel rod. That alone creates a good solid fit with zero movement. However, I will be fitting one more and also a magnetic fastener which will be sunk in to the inside of the grip. The dowels will keep its place whilst the magnet will keep the grip on

Just hope I get a good stain in nice colour. Need to think about whether to use tru oil once stained. It gives a beautiful gloss finish. But I’m still debating. Oh the good old days before strict gun controls. I can see why it had to happen but perhaps gone a bit over the top. I never had a real firearm although I have used a few many years ago. I had, going back a lot of years, a couple of Brocock airgun revolvers. They were the air cartridge ones if you remember them. A pain to charge each cartridge as back then you had to use a stirrup pump and it was a real workout with many pumps for just one cartridge. They were beautifully made guns. Amazing in fact. They were soon outlawed in the UK as apparently people were converting them to fire live rounds. So I lost mine like so many others. Meant to be a lead ban coming our way too!! Where the hell will it all end. Wish I could stay living in the 80’s!!

Hello again!! In fact it is to bad that we are to far apart. Each time I watch or ''rewatch'' these videos I feel it more. Anyway. the thickness of the metal of these cans, and its softness make this ideals to end problems of fitness as for exemple if a barrel does not fit a little forced to the frame on a revolver replica. Or on other parts in replica guns or other things as well. As I am in a country where parts are hard to find, and expensive sometimes, I have to get them from another sources and then modify them. Little bolts (for 1911 grips and alike)comes from old house interruptors, electric sockets, and damaged home circuit breakers, also bring some interesting components that you will use. Please check this and let me know when possible, if this is not too much asking. Those computer dust printers also have lots of parts for electric replicas ( but I do not like electric replicas, and unfortunately I do not know nothing of electronics so far) but they got lots of springs that despite of having strange shapes, may have lots of use on replicas. As well as theis small and tiny small bolts, nuts, metal or plastic frames supports, brackets, and so on, The dust ink cassets also have plastic gears, that may be used or replicas, but I do not know for sure, and they have an aluminium cilindrical tube, that can become a silencer or other part, funny springs, and a magnetic axle. Here there is a big problem: the super thin dust. And I can not get rid of this, how I wish I could find some help here. I got around 400 cassets for disassemlbing...

Hello, thank you very much for your work and effort. I found a page on the Internet who is called „Woodgripsandmore“ because I myself have also the idea of adjusting wooden Handgrips for my M29 Smith&Wesson Revolver. Unfortunately, the fishbone skin is missing from these wooden Grips, but you could pushing in the Fishbone Skin, and you could take the original emblems from the original Grips and insert them into the wooden handles. You only have to incorporate the fish skin and emblems, but as skilled in craftsmanship as you are, this should not be a problem for you. But your result still looks very good. Cheers and thank‘s again

@@WaxmaxHi, i mean the pattern of the wooden grips Like this Originals do you have from Thailand because the woodgrips from the Woodgripsandmore unfortunately haven‘ the pattern and emblems. Here, only the pattern has to be incorporated into the wood The advantage of these handles is that you don't have to work the frame too much. But yes, I understand that you would look the revolver as authentic as possible as in Live And Let Die.

Hi again, I understand what you mean now thanks. Not sure where in the world you are but does Thailand not post to you? I like the smooth grips. I believe they are called “presentation grips” in fact, these grips were fitted to a couple of the Dirty Harry guns featured in the films. If you search Dirty Harry gun on RU-vid you will find a guy who looks over an original Dirty Harry gun and that has the smooth grips fitted. They are also missing the emblem. Look nice! I certainly would attempt to create that stippled/fish skin look without the correct tooling. I believe it was all done by machine.

@Waxmax 2 дня назад
Hi. The Dan Wesson is a good looking replica. Well made to I believe. Does your shells load from the front or back? I know the earlier ones loaded from the front by unscrewing the fake bullet. The later loaded from the back. If they load from the back it’s a newer model with increased fps. Would be good to see what you have and what grips you want to fit. You should upload a video

@@Waxmax Hi again!! My DW l's she'll load from the front. The gun itself looks strong, but now that I got it here, all it's making is not different from your M29s. I have WhatsApp and I can show it with all the details. I am disappointed with the construction and afraid it breaks. And even before I bought it, I watched many good videos about it. So it was not a complete surprise. We should talk through other means... ( At this very moment I am watching again that video where you show your broken blued M29...)
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 2 дня назад
You can buy the rear loading shells if you wanted them. I have seen and held the Dan Wesson and it looked really nice. I wouldn’t worry about cracking the frame. The only reason this happened with me is because the co2 seal retaining nut wasn’t fitted properly so when tightening the co2 it just leaked. To try and stop the leaks I overtightened it way too much. I mean a lot, and that caused the crack in frame. If your seals are ok you will only need to lightly tighten the co2 in place.
@pedrotome9119
@pedrotome9119 2 дня назад
@@Waxmax 1000 Thanks for your explanation about the reasons that lead to your frame M29's crack. You had told that before. About the loading shells as I told you they are load from the front, but there is no need to unscrew the fake projectil. It is made of a rubberish soft plastic that allows it to be done this way. My BBs are on a table, and I press the ''ammo'' upside down agais it, and it goes in... I got here some live real .357Mags, and soon I will check if they fit in the cylinder. Of course the only reason is to check the realism of the replica, on this ''chapter''... I like to own the most realistic replicas I can afford. And if they work close to the real thing, it is even better. If I could afford japanese replicas, and find a way to bring them here, 70% of my fears and problems with replicas, would go away maybe forever!! Could this thing wistand 22 ?
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 15 дней назад
.22 airgun pellet I’m guessing you mean? It certainly could but would obviously need to change the barrel and adapt the shells by replacing the rubber seals for larger ones. The other matter would be the valve tube. When the hammer hits, it pushes the valve (tube) forward so it butts up to the back of the pellet. This is obviously sized for 177 pellets. I guess it would still work on .22 pellets. If not, the valve tube would need to be replaced with a suitable .22 one. And then, if doing that, the end of the valve housing where the valve tube pushes out from would also need to be drilled out to .22 size. Then you would also need to replace the rubber o ring inside the valve as it is also sized for the standard 177 valve. The washer that protects the o ring from the spring would also need to be drilled out to .22. Personally I would leave the valve alone and try it first with just the barrel and shell mods. If you do this please let me know how you get on. I will be changing the inner barrel on mine at some point for a full length rifled 177 one

Hi Rune, thanks for your message and for viewing. I am subscribed to your channel and do enjoy your content. I did watch your conversion. Although I know how to do it I wouldn’t dare as I’m in the UK and would be illegal due to our “unique” laws!! I am keen on increasing power outputs whilst staying well within UK legal limits. Not sure why the manufacturers keep them so low other than co2 consumption. I also like to improve the cosmetic realism where I can, hence the mp40 mods. It turned out very well and much improved together with the Luger that I did

@@Waxmax You make very interesting videos👍. I like to tinker with airguns and paintball markers also. I had some problems with the cops here so I stopped using airguns, but paintball and softguns Im still useing. CO2 like larger calibers and big valves. Thats why we can get like 70+ joules from the cal 68 paintball markers. But you should take a look at the Umarex Glock 22 non blowback 6mm airsoft. No need to tune it. With heavy ammo like steel darts I get 6 joule or more (muzzle-loaded). Buy 6mm steel balls for rappid fire and ca 4 joule energy. Very fun indeed 😃👍. Keep up the good work my friend. I really enjoyed your airgun videos. I love the ww2 replicas and find I’m particularly attracted to the German ones as they have such style compared to the British or American ones. I really want a k98. I have the Lee Enfield one which is very good but a bit to clean cut compared to the original. I might try and fit the workings in to an original smle. I did improve the power on it by drilling the valve. Very accurate for a smooth bore but I fire lead pellets through it usually as no ricochet and more accurate. Just need to load individually but again, I have a plan to change that and put a rifled barrel in. I’m very handy and know how to do it but just need the correct parts. I’m desperate to find someone who will post to the uk a set of N frame square butt grips for the model 29. I’m finding it impossible!! If you can help please let me know. Ps; I offered it to you a while ago now but if you ever need a replacement heat core o ring let me know as I have spares for the Umarex markers!!

I wouldn't stress too much about the barrel being open for a length before being rifled. The KJW KC-02 proved that the open section can stabilise the projectile to tighten groupings. How it works is beyond me but there is some excellent analysis out there. The cracked frame, split nut etc though is wholly unacceptable. I wonder if you could get this exchanged as unfit for purpose.
@Waxmax
@Waxmax 20 дней назад
Thanks for your message. It is strange re the barrel. Starts off as 4.5mm then widens to 6mm. I’m no expert either but I assume that a longer correct size barrel would be better and more accurate hence why rifles have long barrels. I intend to find and fit a rifled 4.5mm barrel as I want my new m29 to be as good as it can be. The frame on this older black model is a shame. Unfortunately it’s too late to return it to shop. I’m on the lookout for another secondhand one, hopefully the 8 inch version so I can have the option to swop between both barrel lengths. Thanks again for your input. Very much appreciated

Thank you for your constructive feedback. In answer to your question; this was a test comparing to other co2 airguns and not a serious shoot demonstration. In order to maintain a controlled environment such as no wind sheer which there is/was during filming I thought indoors was the best solution. I’m not sure which part of the world you are from but the weather in the UK is somewhat unpredictable and currently very unsettled. I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to offer any further feedback. Thanks again and stay happy 👍

Hello, and thanks for your sharing (and patience with me). Here is another replica I'd love to own too. Specially the version with out the rail. Makes me remember older Pietro Berettas. This one on the video, looks great. It has a good finnishing. One of my worries with replicas. As they are made of non-ferrous sort of metals, they do not accept bluing like their real steel counter parts. And to remove the original finnish completely, is a pain in the ass. Please make a video some day teaching how to do it. You got know how, and good hands, my friend!!!

Hi, thanks again. I guess you watched my Luger videos of finishing the metal parts using the birchwood casey aluminium black. It turned out very well. Some aluminium parts will blue but depends on the base metals used. I have a video I need to film showing this on a different replica. The beretta had awful markings from factory across the slide so I stripped it back and resprayed.

Stupid things of an old man... I have some 1911-A1s, but I did never find this brand. Do they make this very model in 4,5mms only or do they make it in 6mms too? ( Or only in 6mms? Does its parts are compatible with any other brands? If possible, drop me a line, telling what you know. Thank you in advance.)❤

Hello, I am back, to bother you a little bit more. As I said on the other video about this gun, I could see one decades ago. As far as I can remember, yours looks very realistic. The brown "baquelite" of the one I saw, were brown like these. According to an article I read on a Spanish old guns magazine, these parts were made from "phenolic resisn and paper paste molded on high temperatures". Now: some words probably are not well written / translated from the Spanish text. Maybe I can make photos of the them, as I think I still have the magazine. Spanish is very alike Portuguese, so for us is easy normally to get what they write or say. Thanks for the video. It is very well up graded with your modifications. I will do the same, if I do not find a better accurate replica then the Umarex one... ( How I wish that Europe make air guns and replicas!!! I even pray for this!! Old crazy man things I know... )😢

There are airsoft versions which are allowed to be fully auto in the uk. Not sure on the quality and replica accuracy though. Unfortunately only allowed semi auto 4.5mm versions in the uk but you can certainly simulate full auto with fast trigger pulls. I’m more of a collector although I do enjoy some plinking too. I like to see how I can improve these things in the way I would expect them to be. Like I have said before, there are power limits in the uk although out the box these co2 guns don’t get close to what the limits are so I am keen to improve on that whilst keeping it all legal.

@@Waxmax Hello again!! I came ''back'' here to watch again this video. Like you I am more a collector, rther than anything else. I do not play airsoft, because I usually do not fit it groups, and because I do not want to paint my replicas in green or red as the Laws here demand. I got some 6mms replicas most of them sold before 2006, when this issue was ''regulated''. Now in this coutry it is almost impossible to buy 6mms replicas with out being legalized in an airoft club and also else where, and then I had to buy or immediately pain part of the frame and muzzle in red or bright yellow, for the short replicas, and part of the barrel and stock for the long ones. I would never do this. The Laws about these things were made by people that do not play, probably never saw a real gun, and did not went to obligatory military service like I had to. Like it happens on other subjects here, Laws are made by Incompetent people that know nothing about this and as so, did not for see the collectors on this kind of materials. Model guns are forbbiden, blank guns are very restricted, there they did the right thing for a change, as many people were stupidly modifying them to fire real ammo(!!!!). And so this is it...( Sorry for the long text, and poor english my new friend )

Hi again and another time 😅. Long long ago, I had the luck of seeing one of these in real steel. It was in a small Portuguese military museum, that I hope it stills there. In one of the most historical cities here. I am not surprised with the poor quality of this model, and again I suspect that the model gun version of the Japanese Marushin brand is much more accurate. I do not know if they have the airsoft version of it. I own their electric 6mms version of their Uzi replica. It is very accurate, and realistic, but unfortunately is electrical. And I prefer gas versions. I bought it in second hand as I knew the brand from American guns magazines, I happen to buy back in 1985 and so on... Now there is a company that makes the replica of the Dutch Uzi contract in metal and gas. Anyway back to this one, I will have to wait for a gas version but more real and maybe metallic... For the prices I see of this, I think it is to much, for to little. Drop me a line on this please if you can. As well as for other things and comments. Thank in advance.

Hi, I have to say that the Umarex mp40 is very very good. In fact, I may be forgiven to say it’s probably the best out of the box replica that I have from Umarex apart from the cocking lever recess that was not cutout. But I sorted that obviously hence the video. It’s a solid replica and extremely accurate for a BB gun. I would certainly recommend you get one. If I was buying one again I may be tempted to buy the non weathered version just so I could strip it down and refinish myself. Having said that they did a pretty good job on the weathered finish. I have added my own little tweaks here and there to overall appearance. I know the uzi you’re talking about. It’s the airsoft green gas version made by northeast. I have one! And I also bought the northeast sten too. Look amazing and very heavy. I use black gas in them and had no issues. Pricy for what they are but worth the money if you want an excellent working replica. The sten blowback and sound is probably the best out of any of the airguns I have. It’s intoxicating and loud! I have the Umarex beretta co2 blowback and that is good but nothing like the northeast. The beretta has no power. I think most the gas goes towards the blowback function. And it needs to as the recoil spring is very stiff. I have the gletcher 1911 and that is better as an all rounder for power and blowback. That will be coming up in future video as I fitted wood grips to that model too
