I imagine that when you go home to Canada you WANT Jean to meet your friend from before you even knew him. Similarly he has grown up in France and has friends that predate you but I know you have hung out with them. Just saying … might you have a bit of a double standard? Also are your friend groups closed off to “accepting new members “ in general regardless of what their relationship might be with other members of the group. For example would a new girlfriend of yours be welcome in your group? Do you expect your friends not to add to their circle of friends?

Of course I have friend groups that don’t include Jean 😆😂 we are separate people and lived separate lives for 27 years ! 😛 and it’s funny that you mention Canada because as much as I want Jean to be a part of my family life back home, I also feel like when he comes with me, I don’t properly get to reconnect with my parents and siblings and friends… the solution ? I go a week in advance, spend one on one time with my people and then he joins me. I don’t think I expect anyone to choose me over their partner, but I strongly believe that there is true value in friendships and relationships outside of your romantic partner 😅
@@Getthemargarita that is a great solution (Canada). And of course you are separate people and both of your friendships are important. It does sound like you consider your friend groups to be closed circles. Things change. … it’s best (at least for me) not to be vested in keeping them the same. You are basically a positive person so be happy. (And maybe more accepting of change)
I am sorry you are feeling pushed aside by your friend, but it is important to remember that our brains actually chemically change in the early stages of falling in love. Your friend wants you to get to know their new partner. Friendships are important, but partners take priority for most people. If you want to keep the friendship, tell how you are feeling. Also, be specific and ask them for time for just the two of you to get coffee or a meal. Last, if they bring their partner to a group activity with friends, even if other partners aren’t there, then being upset is not fair.
Hi Ariel, I think you colud easily communicate to a girlfriend: Hey let's do a girlsnight again/ have coffee and a girlstalk. I don't think anyone would be affended by that. Since you asked for our experiences: my boyfriend also brought me to a lot of friend get to gethers in the beginning (and still😅). I decided to treat everyone of his friends like my own friends, even if I didn't know them at all - just because I know, he loves them. And they treated my the same. This was 4 years ago and I'm glad to have all these wonderful people in my live know. My boyfriend did and does hang out with his boys alone too (and I do the same with my friends). But I think, he wanted me there often to get to know his loved ones and the other way around.☺️
It’s during the peak season you have to make a reservation for les Calanques. In Autumn, Spring and Winter it’s better anyway. Not so hot ! You can access them on foot from Cassis or Marseille.

Les calanques de Marseille sont magnifiques. L'été l'accès est réduit ou fermé à cause des incendies possibles. Le mieux est l'accès par la mer. Prendre le bateau depuis Marseille jusqu'à Cassis, le coup d'œil est top. La côte méditerranéenne de l'Esterel avec ses rochers rouges du côté de Saint Raphaël à Cannes est merveilleuse. Venez visiter ces beaux coins de France.
Hi! I just discover your channel, and I wanted to answer about the friendship situation. My mom always said "you make a life with your partner, not your friends", and this is so true. If you feel that way with their partners, what will happen when they will have kids? I never ever had a problem with my friend s partners because they actually became friends as well. As for me, I finally found my man after 6 years of being single, and he is moving with me because we are in LDR right now, so leaving him alone would not be an option at all. But I think maybe you should ask yourself a deeper why, like why you expect so much exclusivity from your friends? You talked about your siblings, maybe you suffered from not enough attention from your parents (I am not at all a psicologist but I thought about it 😅)? Or maybe because you miss that bond with your partner?
Hiii ☺️ welcome 😜 I think we’re all entitled to our opinions… mine is just that while we may make our life with our partner, the other relationships in our lives are imperative to a sense of support, a feeling of belonging and community. When you say « we make our life with our partner » do you really bring them to everything ? When you call your mom is your partner on the phone with you two ? When you go for coffee with a girlfriend, does your partner tag along ? I think that while we can include our partners in our social lives, we must also cherish our other personal relationships. For example, I love my best friend with my whole heart and she is my soul sister - while we may do couple activities with our partners, we also cherish our time alone together. My partner is important but my friends and family are too…. I think as well, just generally it’s unfair to subject your friends to your partner every time you want to hang out with your friend… quite frankly some of my friends partners I don’t really like and my friends behave very differently when their partner is around… I would never say this to them because I would never try to influence who my friends choose as partners, but the result will be that I don’t want to see that friend anymore if their partner is constantly around… and that’s ok !
@@Getthemargarita I understand and get what you are saying, still to me it is not an issue. I think maybe it is from personal character, education and experiences. For instance my mom has never been so lucky with her friendships (betrayal, unfairness and such) nor with her love life, until my stepdad. And yes, she is 99% of the time with him. However there is always some times alone because he is working, but even if he wasnt, it wouldnt be an issue to me, I am so happy to see her finally happy in her love life, because to me love is not selfish. And for me, as I said, my man is gonna move country to be with me, so leaving him alone in the house is not gonna be an option. And my friends are as eager as me, and are so happy for me as they like him very much too. But I am thinking something else, you live in París from what I understood, and I am french and I know how french people are... Dont you think perhaps it would be different if you were in Greece or in Italy? And again, what will happen when they will have kids and wont be able to meet alone, or even anymore?
some relationships are for a season, some for a lifetime, but they change overtime through different life stages, just go with it, and remember not everyone will give back as you do, people are different. I think you're awesome btw, love your zest for life and positivity.
Ariel as far as friends in new relationships. Remember a large part of a new relationship is blending in with your friends group. It’s an important part of a new relationship. Try to remember when you and John got together and you wanted to introduce him to everyone so they would love him as much as you. AND these new relationships don’t always last, they can be a relationship for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Try to be patient and share in their excitement! I know from your videos you would always be kind and welcoming but who knows where the relationship will end up! Even you may end up with a new close, loved friend from it! But I understand it is hard. This is not a criticism, just another way to look at it❤

I volunteer in my local charity shop here in London uk. I too is watching that series it’s super good. I so agree with your comments re partners bringing their significant others to everything , keep things separate for certain things, at least at the end of the day you have stuff to say. I used to go to the PNE in Vancouver when I lived in Victoria. Great memories. I miss the green openness of Canada living here in Southern California. However, I do love the desert 🌵🌴🌵where I do live. The fast fashion industry is a real problem for our environment and our culture.

Bordeaux is a beautiful city...I know because I lived in the Bordeaux countryside for 8 years! Going to Nice in October where my husband's family lives...Love to travel and visit France, but never living there again! ❤️Portugal my forever home!!
I don't know where you are in Canada, but here in the US, people still make food to take to parties and gatherings. Yes, some people buy premade because of time constraints (or they don't cook well enough to share with others). Also, I find it hard to believe food is cheaper in France, especially Paris. And I have to question how organic could be cheaper unless as you say, most producers are organic in production. One would have to do a comparison of products that were available in both places to really see how they compare.
I love that you would like to give your employees as much time off as you have received in France, but seriously, it is not practical to do so for a small crepe shop or bakery, whether in the U.S. or Canada. First of all, you would need quite a crew of employees who could take over for staff out on vacation. Second, if you gave a month off (as is done in Europe) in say the summer, you would lose a month of income and have to make that up later in the year and it is doubtful that a new shop could easily do that. You'd have to raise prices and that could further negatively impact business. It's just not practical and that's why it isn't done in the US. Why it works in France, who knows? Maybe landlords charge less for rent; maybe stores own their buildings. But it is not a realistic/affordable option over here. People here get really annoyed when a store/restaurant/etc is shut for a day or a week. let alone how long you would be closed. I think there are other ways to treat your employees well (Paid family leave? Paid insurance? Good wages, breaks on housing, etc.) But 12 weeks off? Not gonna happen if whole place shuts down and/or you have to hire replacement staff. Too hard on finances.
Yes it’s the same in Canada ! I have no clue, maybe because it’s less common in North America 🤔 in Europe organic farming is common and I would imagine that it’s easier/cheaper to trade amongst other European countries
I bought your 2nd visit to Paris itinerary and it was so well done!! My daughter and I loved the dinner option and the shopping and found a new museum all places we wouldn’t have found without you!! $ so well spent!

Personally, I think you need to take a step back. Your viewers only have an expectation of what you give them. You have been clear that you put out 2 videos a week. However, you were going to Canada, so the week before, if you had just said something along the lines 'next week there will only be one video, but that's because I'm doing something exciting and there will be a video for that coming soon'. Then you could have put out only one video and then put out the Canada one when it was ready. You put out great content, but there is nothing wrong with sometimes saying, next week I won't be putting out a video.
Hi Arielle, please don't feel guilty about not posting videos, i always look forward to your videos and know if you didn't post it's because you have a lot of stuff going on. And please get 8 hours of sleep, it's good for your health and you won't feel so stressed, just take things one day at a time and breathe, life is not meant to be taken seriously so just have fun from time to time.
