Zootown Church is about one thing and one thing only: Jesus. He is the light in a dark world and Zootown Church wants to be that light to the wonderful city of Missoula, Montana.
Zootown Church began when Pastor Scott Klaudt and his wife Jenny had the vision to meet people where they’re at - like Jesus does. Jesus doesn't expect you to change for him to meet with you, he is the change that comes to meet with you. He doesn't sit on a hill waiting for you to come to him, he comes to you wherever you are at. Pastor Scott and Jenny believed this so strongly, that they started this church in a coffee shop called Zootown Brew. To engage the community with the love of Jesus in their everyday lives, with their favorite drink - coffee.
We want people to know that we are not giving you more religion. That is the last thing this world needs is more religion. Zootown Church doesn't exist to give more information about Jesus or more knowledge about Christianity. Its sole purpose is to
I'm out of the ECT camp but I don't know where I am. Even with annihilationism, doesn't God lose? Doesn't his will fail? Where is the victory? Its a small one, one that doesn't come close to his will to save his whole creation. It means satan was largely victorious, he took the vast majority of Gods creation from him.
My local pastor made a great point about this topic. Being lost and found. He said, “The only way you can be lost is, you have to be owned already”. Who’s going to look for someone or something that doesn’t belong to you? I loved that analogy ❤

Scottie. I know that since that series this ministry has been through the fire. But, you have never stopped pointing people to The Goodness of God. Wow. What a beautiful journey it’s been. I’m going through all the messages in my head that produced fruit for heart, mind and soul: Love, Dad Water to Wine Calling All Sheep Summer of Love The Road to Emmaus Fire Season Just to name a few. My point is this. Those messages were life changing then and still are today. Upside Down Kingdom led me to leaving my side of the aisle politically. It feels wonderful. I grew up in a Christian environment. Does it sound weird to say that I want to believe, and I have believed, but now my mind keeps telling me it’s not real? I think I haven’t committed myself because I always feel as though I’m lying to myself. So, if I feel that way then I shouldn’t be hypocritical and pretend as though I do. He was referring to Luther & Calvin’s mindset. “The law” is the terminology used by Christ and others in the New Testament when referring to the first five books, pick any random chapter of Genesis (a narrative story) and you will find its not the “legal system of God” 2. I personally understood his quotes in light of what he said about St Augustine, namely that we can recognize the work of the Holy Spirit in someone’s life when it is fruit of the spirit (for works) and in their teachings when those teachings are accepted in a conciliatory manner. Lutheranism is based on Luther. Calvinism is based on Calvin. These are a single person making decisions for the whole of the whole, it is contradictory to the way of the ekklesia. I won’t reply further, partly because I think the rest is sort of built upon these misunderstandings. But most importantly because you are approaching this from an entirely western point of view. Seek out the eastern Christian perspective! ✝️☦️
7:00 You comment that panics regarding the imminent return of Jesus and the Judgment are recent phenomena is partially true. Certainly the "rapture" theology is recent, and LaHaye and others monetized that fear brilliantly. I was amused however to read in historian Tom Holland's book _The Forge of Christendom_ that a similar widespread panic occurred prior to the end of the first millenium, based on Jesus' words that he would return in a thousand years. Of course (spoiler alert), it was a no show; Jesus didn't return. Holland's book is, however, a good read, but again, spoiler alert, it is actually history, not fear mongering fantasy.
In Matthew 25:31-46, Then he will say to those on his left, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels…And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” The three uses of eternal above are all from aiōnion once again, meaning eternal or everlasting. Revelation 14:9-11 says, "If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath...and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have NO REST, day or night." If they were annihilated out of existence, then the statement no rest day or night makes no sense. Revelation 20:10 says, "And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be TORMENTED day and night FOREVER and ever. . .Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if ANYONE"S name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." By the way, the word torment is translated from the Greek word Basanismos, and it means to torture. It absolutely does NOT mean to annihilate and put out of existence.
Pastor, you are incredibly brave. You’re also right to do what you are doing. It’s time we all abandoned churches made by men and join ourselves to the church made by Christ our God.

Pastor, God bless you! Your church’s journey is inspirational. One clarifying note, no apostolic church (Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Catholic) would consider your communion to actually be the Eucharist because you don’t have Apostolic Succession. Pax Christi

“I’m not going to deny people the medicine.” We believe the Church is visible, and tangible. You can identify it and find it. You are in real time denying people the medicine and confusing them by NOT telling people to drop what they are doing and join the Orthodox Church to receive the ONLY true food and drink. I know it sounds absolutist, but there is no hiding that the Orthodox Church believes herself to be the only vehicle of salvation. The spirit works outside, but it works outside to bring people in. You can’t keep playing around with this.
At the 41 minute mark Fr Jarmus makes an interesting statement about a unique Orthodox doctrine that, 'Heaven snd Hell are the same place'. I would like to know what Church fathers I could read for more on this unique subject? Thx.
