Silicone is better in every way, except you can't slide your pieces. Which is a big deal, if you look at videos of all the top players they all slide pieces one time or another. Not to mention sliding happens when adjusting pieces. The grippy nature of silicone doesn't allow sliding with the felt bottoms.
You should have got some one that knows more about them than yourself I laughed when you said everyone knows about the Isle Lewis chess sets and you messed up from beginning to end. Sorry to be a bit harsh with you but it's true. The video didn't tell us anything because you did not know anything about them. They are attributed to both Scotland and Scandinavia but are more likely to be Scandinavian. They where found on the West Coast of the Isle of Lewis in 1831.there are several storys as to how they where found and one story is by a Shepherd out walking with his catle and it had disturbed the ground near a chamber and where seen by the Shepherd.
I keep my silicone board in tournament chess bags , my pieces have on the bottom a green patch that lets the pieces slide very smooth . I love my chess set.
Thank you for the review I'm going to be getting these for Christmas 🎄 what is that board with the melting puzzle piece concept I LOVE that one please let me know that Baird is that a custom made Etsy board or something looks very nice and your collection is awesome ! The big set to your left looks really really cool as well
thanks man I was looking at something like a 18.9x18.9 so I looked this up for reference. i don't like the small ones, wanted a proper one you know but not huge huge lol. nice collection lol, i played as a kid tons, in the tournaments in school and everything but haven't played since i was 13! nothing like a real board
Hey I just har some Anton questions. Why do only Silicone boards come double sided? And mouse pads and vinyl don’t? And why are custom prints (in general) only available for mouse pads? How could I go about ordering custom double sided mats?
The sound in your videos is consistently bad. It's usually very low, to the point of having to crank up the volume just to hear you. I've read a number of complaints about it below your videos and yet you did nothing to correct it. So you either disagree with this common assessment, or you aren't paying attention to the complaints. At the end of the day, your videos are amateurish because of this factor and it's totally fixable.
mousepad and wood are still king! Silicone does not let you slide pieces and can still warp and not lay neatly also it can stain and if a dark stain you cannot remove it with washing it gets like embedded in the rubber
I'm looking for a nice travel magnetic chess set but not full size. I really prefer beautiful chess pieces maybe even heavier metal ones. Maybe you have a website? Great vid!
