Air won’t get into the system through the radiator and it wouldn’t matter if it did, auto shops and I both leave the cap off, start the truck and check for things like a blown head gasket. It wouldn’t matter if air gets in, the problem is this, if the radiator cap seal is not good, it will let the radiator coolant leak through and evaporate, making you use much more coolant that normal.
That rear center mount is an absolute demonic nasty piece of engineering. It seems like no matter which way you try and come at those three mount bracket bolts, there is no clearance from the mount itself except hitting it from the top, but then you can only use an open point end on the wrench which takes fooooorever. I dunno if you have a better technique, but if you do, I'd love to hear it.
Howdy, do you have a video on how to remove the rear pads on a 3rd gen 88 GTA? This car has e-brake stuff. also on how to remove the caliper to get to the rotors? great videos guys. Thank you
Does this car come with a locking key way tool at all or not? Wanna do my own breaks on my beater car. Gotta do a oil change and coolant flush up front yet and then new shoes and a muffler. Magnaflow muffler and res delete
Usually with a combination of a bit of input steering, braking to shift weight to the front, and throttle. On sharp hairpins I usually use the handbrake as well a bit to get the rear end out sooner
You can get there! Lots of trial an error is how I got where I'm at, many runs ended at the first or second corner when I flew off the edge of the road
Flywheel from emtech would be my biggest suggestion, I'd also suggest joining the vortec 4200 swap group on facebook as a lot of people there are always super helpful. I actually got a few parts from people in that group.
Did Honda go out of there way to make the most complicated alternator replacement ever? Like wtf first Honda and I’m scratching my head. I’ve changed alternators on diesels gms fords heavy equipment, I’ve never seen such stupidity.
Not entirely, had to move, had to sell all my cars but my main one (04 Celica), planning on making more videos this spring but unfortunately the firebird is gone. Hope to build another with the 4200 in the future once I've got the space to however!
I'm sure this might have been mentioned, or already crossed your mind, but i would definitely go for a cowled hood vs cutting a hole or scalping the webbing in the stock hood to make a relief zone for valve cover clearance. Edit* spoke too soon.. Just seen the next episode..
first and current car is a '90 cb7 and I love her, someone before me whipped up a full exhaust system on her, even a high flow muffler on the end, and just kinda slapped the catalytic converter back onto it after. Sounds great to be honest But I plan on picking up a Yonaka catback at some point and throwing it on there cause I think it'll sound better
