I have received 2 biofeedback sessions to relieve my stress. Both times I experienced “a color show.” No drugs were used) It was like I was inside a transparent bubble with colors floating over the surface . It was exciting, but I could still pickup the inquiries being asked. Example: I perceived they wanted sexual information, I did feel it was appropriate so I refused to give back information, I was later asked if I had negative thoughts about sex? No! Just don’t like to give out personal info,if it’s not relevant. Do you get a lot of responses like this? What does it relate to?
I'm so confused.... I just started neurofeedback and all they have me doing is watching The Office as the wires are connected to me head... I watch for 45 minutes as the screen becomes smaller, lights flash, etc... I never see my brain waves... the tech comes in every 10 minutes or so the check on me. I asked, "all I have to do is watch this show? I dont do anything else? I'm confused, I thought I need to be learning how to train my brain.." she said all I need to do is watch the show. It is free and paid for by my insurance, so I'm not paying anything out of pocket... but I'm concerned they arent doing it right. I had an hour interview with the pyschologist and she apparently is the one that crafted my "program" that the tech implements.. are there simply different ways of doing this?
This is really interesting. I only got my diagnose about 4 years ago when I was 26. I've had so much trouble with school stuff my whole life. I kept failing stuff. I finally found what I wanted to do in life. So I studied software engineering. But it was soooo hard. When they explained stuff I just didn't understand. I needed to know why exactly I used the kind of code they were explaining. And I wanted to know all the code behind the code. They kept telling me, 'theres no need to learn that. Just focus on this'. But I just really didn't understand. I finally went and got myself tested and I got the diagnose ADD. I tried out some medication and Dexamphetamine turn out to work for me REALLY good. Now I finally understood what they were explaining. My head didn't have to think in the difficult way it used to think. Ofcourse I have a concentration problem. When I see a bird flying by the window I will get distracted without the medication. My eyes see every blink/light/movement. But that wasn't my (biggest) problem in school. It was the way my head was overthinking everything. And I wonder if neurofeedback can help something like that.
insurance does cover it depending on who you have. i have ADHD and ive been taking medication since i was 6. im tired of feeling not myself. I have not developed as the person that i should be. I fee like an adult but in a 16 year old body. i am considering trying this for myself. no matter what I need to do, if this can work then i will do it and prove that it does. I am curently studying psychology to become a neuropsychologist.
I first learned of this treatment in a drug treatment center. I had walked by a room where a friend I had made in the rehab was connected to some machine. I later asked what it was, he explained and I was confused at first. It wasn’t until years later when I discovered more addicts had used this form of treatment. I’ve never really heard anything negative about this therapy. I’m excited to lear more.
My 5 year old is in his 3rd week of treatment 5 sessions and I feel he's getting more hyper. 9 months we had two notes from his teacher about his behaviors. Last three weeks , we e had 3 notes .
Do people realize the implications of the "success" achieved from this? You are basically training a person's feelings to react to noise. From a security perspective this is a nightmare because after achieving success, someone else can just use the same stimuli to ruin that person's life. Getting up on stage to give a speech? Let's play that same noise.
@@erdemmemisyazici3950 just asking any issues with neurofeedback as i was planning to give to my child. As far as I understood there is no any impact but your statement is really valid one and need to look further
@@IntotheWildscape Conditioning is certainly not without its issues. I have been suffering from a speaker implant in a similar manner where correlating signals induce stress and I doubt people consider the long term implications of constant suggestion properly. Without proper consent it can be a nightmare, a child may come to regret it similarly. Our subconscious minds are susceptible to suggestion especially when making seemingly random choices. To methodically invade that process certainly should involve consent of all parties and simply should not be done in my personal opinion.
While every person is individual, the best way to see whether a child has ADHD/ADD is through a QEEG or an EEG. Slow activity can be quite clearly seen between 4-8 Hz in the brain across the Sensory-Motor strip. Without the QEEG/EEG, diagnosing children with a tick against the DSM-V criteria, is inaccurate and it is easy to misdiagnose. Without a QEEG/EEG you would tick the same boxes on the DSM-V for hypervigilance due to trauma, Irlen Syndrome, or epileptiform activity. It is time we recognised that there is a problem, particularly with attention, behaviour and memory, and used a more scientific method of diagnosing the cause than a 'tick the boxes and here's your Ritalin'. It annoys me how this treatment isn't recommended by most doctors. The current medical paradigm is a joke. It seems like whenever you go to the doctor for treatment all they can offer you is drugs... I wonder why? Because it makes money for the pharmaceutical companies. Anything remotely holistic or traditional is deemed "alternative medicine". For me, the current medical establishment is alternative.
Sheng Loong Tan my brother has autism and it changed his life so I beg to differ. He raves about it because it totally improved everything for his daily experiences.
For some people, medication is necessary for functioning. We are still learning about what works best for people. Don't hate medication and medical professionals because it's popular to do.
Beautifully illustrated video on the positive effects of neurofeedback. Soooo happy for this young boy and his family. Their lives have been changed - for the better - forever and without drugs!!!! And they are helping others by sharing their magnificent story. Amazing!!! Thank you!!
3:37 The way i see it is that we all need every wavelength but if say an adhd person can't get enough theta wave then when he is trying to relax for sleep he will jump down from beta to alpha but when he reaches theta he will feel ill at ease so he either gets up again because he cant sleep and tries to exhaust himself by reading watching tv or playing a computer game or he may just wait till he crashes with delta to go for deep sleep but if the period of hanging around in inefficient theta for too long the person will feel ill at ease and that's why they like stimulation because they feel more at home in a eta state with more things functioning and thriving. or goes the other way and takes sleeping pills and tranquilizers to synthetically mimic theta so he can better transition to delta and sleep. Adhd peopel could have overactive beta and underactive theta.
This is an old technology that has already been weaponized in order to make targets go crazy and commit suicide...With neuro-feedback, they induce feelings of anxiety, depression, and racing thoughts. Many government agencies are using this technology now on those deemed undesirables and many have killed themselves...search targeted individuals. The only way to free yourself of this weapon is prayer to the one and only God YAHWEH...
What are you on about? This helped my autistic brother immensely. He raves about it because it totally changed his life. You’re speaking out of your ass, this is not the same thing as shock therapy. You did not provide a single article to support your claims and instead you cite religion? You lost all credibility there dude, stop spreading falsehoods.
I wonder how you have published the case of a child with mental health issues to the world. Are there no ethical issues surrounding his identity? Or was he an adult when the video was published?
In Germany the laws are different when it comes to mental health, remember, ADD is still not taken seriously. None the less, how would this harm the child? ADD is nothing to be ashamed of.
So the video was shot in the Netherlands, and here mental health of course is taken seriously and efforts are being made to make things like ADHD better understood by the general public. Regarding the child being in the video, both he and his caretakers will have to have given consent that the material has been used, and in case he would want it to taken down at a later age there are possibilities for that. And lastly, his surname wasn't used, so the chance that his classmates would stumble upon this and use it against him to tease him is very unlikely.

This technology diagnosed a parasitic infection in me that no western medicine doctor could figure out. For a concerning amount of time, I dealt with the symptoms. In one setting I with a homeopathic doctor, and this machine...I had an authentic diagnosis, proper treatment, and a cure. Praise God for the Laws of Nature!
I've watched about 6 of these testimonials for "biofeedback and neurofeedback" with the Nexus 10 but you only put people on who rave about the neurofeedback capacity of this device. Is there something wrong with the biofeedback functions, which would explain why nobody is using those? This issue is putting me against the Nexus in a search for a new system for biofeedback purposes.
