I stopped going to church building 5 years ago (and don't miss it) and am learning more about home church. A short while ago my daughter hosted a women's prayer meeting at her home - and it was amazing sharing requests and talking and fellowshipping with each other. And it occurred to me ... THIS is the Acts church model! 😊It was wonderfully uplifting.

Church is for believers? excuse me?? The believers ARE the Church-THE BODY OF CHRIST! Get them saved, them put them under the law of works to maintain their salavation. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever joins a church, pays tithes, get's baptised, does good works and believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life, until he loses it. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but the church will, and that the world through him might be saved. Not what Jesus said! WAS IT? Churches are "The Ignorant Brethren"

Do you have any leaders trained at your school who started a home church near here? I knew this movement was coming many years ago and expressed that to other believers, for church is the people, not the building.

It could take hours to timestamp and refute most all of the points made in this video. Approaching this passage from the view of a calvinist and non-calvinist perspective is really like two people standing on opposite sides of a number 9 painted on the ground, one person is asserting that it is a "6" from their perspective, the other is asserting it is a "9". Believe it or not, there are other ways of understanding these passages that fully defend God's goodness, His righteousness, His justness, His sovereignty etc, and are more consistent with the rest of scripture than reformed theology would teach. But to understand it that way, you have to read Romans from a 1st century Jew's perspective, and be very diligent in understanding all of the meaning in the Old Testament references (really go back and read whole chapters of those references for full context). Also you can really see these texts clearer if you remove the calvinist presuppositions first. Don't approach them just assuming that Total "Inability", or regeneration preceeding faith, or Faith being a gift, or unconditional election, or individual election, etc are all true... those doctrines were created after to try to put a deterministic lens over the text and make it all work philosophically, but they are not as rigorous as you might think. It would also help to try to fully understand the concept of "Judicial hardening" and how it applies in these passages. Once you see judicial hardening in the Bible, total inability just doesn't make sense anymore. If we are already deaf, dumb, and spiritually blind and unable to respond to the Gospel, then what is the point of God judicially hardening people. Is he going to make them more dead than they already are? Is he going to make the blind even more blind? Be diligent in really trying to define who is being spoken too, what is being predestined, what is being elected, and whether people are being chosen for service? Or for salvation/reprobation ? Also, a lot of biblical terms that Calvinists have defined in there doctrines (Foreknowledge, election, predestination, total depravity etc) may not actually mean what they teach that they mean, so that's why it's important to really try to define them in context as you read. If anyone reading this wants to hear some other really good biblical perspectives walking through Romans 9 I would look for Mike Winger's videos on Romans 9 or go to Soteriology 101 channel and listen to how Leighton Flowers walks through Romans 9. He has a book related to this passage as well. Even if you don't agree, you might better understand some other good biblical perspectives on these tough passages. God Bless.

I am a native Japanese Evangelical Born-Again Christian who lives in Osaka, Japan. My father who went to be with the Lord in 2001 was a PASTOR of an Evangelical church pastor. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was in America as an exchange student during 60s. He was typical NON-CHRISTIAN before going to America, and in his second year in America, he had opportunity to hear clear gospel from Evangelical church leaders in America. Eventually, he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior in his entire life. After completion of his Uni. studies in America, he received his Evangelical theological studies at a Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas, USA from 1965 to 70. Later on, he became a founder of an Evangelical church pastor in Osaka, JAPAN. I have also received education in FL, USA from high school to 4-year-Bible college in Florida as well. I left Japan when I was 15 without knowing any English abilities. a week before I finally left Japan for high school education in Florida, America. I only knew English alphabet at all. I started my school education from being an AUDITOR. But because of God's grace and mercy, I eventually finished my high school education in English 4 years later. and entered a 4-year- Bible college in New Port Richey, Florida. at Trinity Collage of Florida under professors who graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, Moody Bible or Trinity Seminary in Chicago. ----------- Speaking of house church, It is essential in Japan because there are not many Christians and Evangelical churches throughout Japan from South to North. At the same time, it is extremely expensive having a personal property for a church building in JAPAN. Furthermore, a size of Japan is very similar to that of California in America. This means geographically very small and not sufficient space like America. This is one of clear reasons having House Churches throughout Japan. If there are House Churches, we do have to concern about an expensive properties financially. There are a few house churches at my father's traditional church in Osaka. Its church is Non-Denominational Evangelical church based on Dallas Theological teachings and foundations. ----------------------------------------- In conclusion, It is very important to have House Churches with an Internet systems all over Japan. I am personally NOT too CONCERVATIVE about a style of House Church same as my family and a member of my father's church in Osaka. It is very unique to have various types of house churches: hymn only house church, modern worship and hymn house church, contemporary worship style house church. There are very wonderful worship songs composed by Don More. Some may use Internet worship service connect with a local Evangelical church for any biblical teachings on Sunday service. ---------- All I can boldly proclaim that we need to be careful not to be trapped by any FALSE TEACHINGS such as cults, heresy, liberalistic teaching, ecumenical, Legalism, or Prosperity gospel teachings etc. May God bless you. I am 47years old with a Baby Faced male who lives in OSAKA, JAPAN currently. very active and energetic for a name of JESUS .

I think Rom 9 is where we see if we can do proper Bible hermenetics. When we see "it does not depend..." do we then ask what "it" is? Or do we assume it is about individual salvation even if that is not the topic in question? When we see the potter-clay analogy, do we read the Old Testament and see what the Bible teach about it, or do we import our own ideas of what we think it should mean? Finally, do we read on and follow Paul's reasoning all the way through so we get the whole flow of the argument? Do we notice that Paul says hardened people can still be saved if they do not persist in unbelief or do we asssume a hardened person cannot believe?

@@-RM- The short version is: Everyone Paul’s 1st century world held the belief, before Christ came, that God only loved and chose the Jews as his people, and that (this part is supremely important) that it meant the Gentiles were dog meat. Sub human. Of course, that’s a hideous thing to say, (ask someone around you to agree that your race is the master race and that all other races aren’t even humans, and see how that conversation goes) but they not only believed it, they taught it from scripture. Many of the quotes Paul pulls in Romans 9 are actually phrases that were used by Jews in defense of this holy racism theology, but Paul is flipping all of them on their heads. He’s reversing the identity roles. He’s saying, ‘ok, you Jews like to say “Jacob I loved but Esau I hated” because you think it’s God saying he hates anyone who isn’t you, well what if God does hate people, but it’s you that he hates? How would you like your holy-racism-theology if YOU’RE actually the Esau??’ That’s the short version. Paul is correcting the Jews’ doctrine of election, not establishing a new one. That’s why he says all the things he says in chapters 1-5, in places like Rom 5:18 and 11:32.

Not to mention critical passages omitted or cut off short. Most of these proof texts need greater context. People should really read Romans 8-11 consecutively to digest the whole message. That's a philosophical argument. It's not a biblical argument. Are you who fight against the doctrines of grace even believing in the bible as highest authority? Seems that most of you believe more in your own philosophical reasoning than in God's word. Dale argued in this sermon with the Bible over and over again! You didn't reference scripture with that kind of arguing and you didn't answer his biblical arguments either. That tells a lot... That's why Dale is absolutely right with what he said in the introduction (4:09-5:09): Most non-calvinists are not careful interpreters of the word. I see it in the comments section all the time. Non-calvinists lean to be philosophers, not exegets. The problem with it is that even our thinking is by nature depraved by sin (Eph 4,17-18; Rom 12,2-3). That's why we should believe more in scripture, than in our depraved philosophical arguments. Please Stop! You don't fight against Calvin. You fight against five points that Jesus and the Apostles taught (f.e. in John 1+3+6+10+15+17; Acts 13+16+20; Romans 3+5+7+8+9+11; Ephesians 1+2+4+5). Did you ever studie these chapters carefully? I didn't say that and didn't meant it. First of all my comment was an answer to another comment of a person who wasn't refuting Dales biblical arguments and arguing with philosophical ideas instead. But let me be clear: Calvinists are "on average" better exegets, have more scripture knowledge and and use less philosophical arguments. That's just true. Like Dale said: If someone was writing 700 pages on three verses of the Bible, it was mostly a puritan (calvinist). These guys took the Bible seriously, more than others. The puritans were the best theologians ever! But also true: Some people who have a great bible knowledge are not Calvinists. I'm sure most of them they are lying to themselves because I was lying to myself, too... I was reading through romans 9 and many, many other passages and I already knew deep down that it teaches calvinism, but wasn't able to accept it for months, like many before me. Careful and honest exegets can't oversee calvinism in the Bible, because it's there! Total depravity, unconditional election, irresistible grace and the preservation of the saints are clearly in the Bible (and the 3rd point too, but not as clear as the others)! There are really hundreds, maybe over thousand bible verses that teach calvinism, it's really everywhere!

That verse 9:15 is not quoted correctly and makes it appear as if God can do ANYTHING He wants... which could not be farther from the truth. God has a stricter set of rules than we do. The verse should say I will have mercy on whom I WILL have mercy. So as to say that if it is a persons WILL and their 'will' is God's 'will'... then that person will show mercy, and thus will also be shown much mercy. Jacob was a wreck, and even helped by his mother (uh oh a woman!) to deceive her own husband and so on. The reason Jacob is renamed is because he refused to 'give up' unless all of his 'troubles' could become a 'blessing'. This is why the battle goes all night and MUST end before the 'new day'. Jacob being save OUT OF his trouble DOES NOT mean saved 'from' his trouble. And right now? Israel is in BIG BIG trouble. 😔

That’s why they objected so strenuously to Paul. If Paul was teaching what you suggest, that Hid only chooses some people, they wouldn’t even object to that. They already believed that. They believed the chosen ones were them! The only reason why they object is because Paul is NOT teaching Calvinism.

10:47 “Millions have asked if it is just for God to love one and not another?” No, it’s not just. And thankfully that’s not what he does!

8:34 Paul isn’t offering the OT stories to support the idea that God elects some and not others, he’s presenting those stories to prove that if God really did elect some AND CAST OUT THE OTHERS, then it would be the Jews that were cast out. He’s reversing the roles in each of the OT stories in chapter 9. All of them. Moses and Pharaoh, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Ishmael, Jacob and Esau. When he says Jacob I loved but Esau I hated, you need to be asking who is Jacob? And who is Esau? If you’re not asking these questions you’re not going to understand the chapter.
